LOL the only people who don't want to are the ones he has sent packing. Bradberry seems to be another one of DGs solid draft picks. Glad he's here. PFF says DG has never made a good draft pick in his life. Worst GM ever. Duh!As I have said analytics have a Important place in the NFL. As far as PFF goes knowing how to apply them to the game itself think they are lacking sometimes. And they seem to have to many hands in the pot some of their own analyst put out stuff that disagrees with each other.

DE Is in the QB's face. The QB his hurried and gets moved off his spot . The route does not develop fully . The QB forces the throw. Corner picks the Pass . The RT runs up the field. Strip tackles the corner. The ball advanced 15 yards for the Offence. How do you score the RT's performance in that play? This is just one play of thousands that have this bad good outcome for a player. This my problem with them. They put numbers to a paradoxical situation. That more philosophy than science.

Unless we know what Detroit was offering, I think its logical to think we outspent them which is why he is here. We arent the Patriots (yet). Players aren't coming here on a discount to win. You don't think it is logical to think that Bradberry is telling the truth?

But they seperate their grade into pass blocking, run blocking, pressures allowed etc... in that case anything that happens after the RTs failed pass blocking doesnt affect his pass blocking grade.

Let me get this straight. I don't work for 29 dollars an hour. Way to avoid the question. Would you work for a guy you hate/don't trust for $501/hr or would you work for a man you love working for for $500/hr?
I never said money isn't a factor, obviously it is. But we should not assume he came here simple because we paid him more, especially when he specifically said the other reasons that were factors.

So they put out things that say "Clowney is the best edge defender in football" so all these people that like Clowney are happy. Then they put out something that says "Clowney is overrated, don't sign him" and all the people that don't like Clowney are happy.

You and I are different wave lengths . You are using "the peanuts matter" argument A million or under. I am using gold bars. 5- 10 dollars a year difference If the money is not there . Other preferences go away quickly. Your one dollar an hour example is insignificant. It would be trivial to anyone. You are making it look as if it's noteworthy. When in reality it isn't. Post 27 makes you argument moot anyway . The Giants did give the highest offer.

yeah but im sure he has a good relationship with gettle also. Ok. What is Gettleman going to do now that he is here? Wipe his ass? It would make more sense if he had a relationship with the head coach. Sense? How often does a free agent go to a team because he knows the coach? Usually they don't know the coach or the GM. What's so bad about him coming here because he believes in what the GM is trying to build? Wipe his ass? Really, a dumb statement.

Well, he is here now... I hope this was the best move to make our team better with the money spent. Dave brought back over his Qwonerback.

There is nothing wrong with what you said. If he believes in what DG is building than more power to him. My point was he came here MOST LIKELY due to the size of the paycheck and not his connection with DG.

Your one dollar an hour example is insignificant. It would be trivial to anyone. Exactly my point. I'm not saying money does not matter. What I am saying is that players don't simply go to whichever team offers them the penny count.
You actually agree with me.

He could be. But I think the odds are, we gave him the most money. That is fine to think that but he actually said other things effected his decision. My point is no one here is making something up, the man said it lol. We have no idea who offered what, we do know what he said though.

My point was he came here MOST LIKELY due to the size of the paycheck and not his connection with DG. But what you said was "It has nothing to do with Dave and every thing to do with Benjamin". You didn't say we "probably" paid him the most. You had to shoot down any possibility that DG could be the reason he came here. You understand how people could read "most likely" and "everything to do with Benjamin" as very different right?
I doubt anyone would have even blinked if you said "chances are we paid him the most".

So we outbid everyone else. Why do we always go to this? It has nothing to do with Dave and every thing to do with Benjamin. HaHa great line, "It has nothing to do with Dave and everything to do with Benjamin". But don't forget Dave is the one who drafted him, he probably does believe in him and Bradbury knows it. I do think that Dave wanting him did have something to do with him coming here. As well as Benjamin.

They suggested to being arguably the best edge.... in free agency They honestly truly just grade players in a way you might not agree with if they are against your happy chocolate land posts using limited stats but they certainly do not create grades on Clowney to as you say... make the people who like Clowney happy. A more vacuous opinion I have yet to read regarding advanced stat sites. I must really have gotten to you Mike....not my intention of making you create clown conspiracy theories

My point is No discounts because we are familiar. Even though they seem to have a friendly attitude with each other. If there was a wide berth between the bid from team X and the Giants' offer. There is no way any Agent would advise his client to accept the lower offer.

You see how what you just said and "Players do not go to the 2nd highest bidder." are very different right?

So Gettleman is the reason people don't come here but has nothing to do with people coming here?
Not sure where you get that from. Obviously he brought Bradberry in here. He drafted him. He paid him top dollar. What "top dollar" means in fa?

As I said You and I are on different wave lengths. I see Pennies as trial. You see one cent more as the highest bid. It is moot anyway the Giants gave the highest offer as the assumption my post that you originally commented stated.

All fine and dandy. Go back to the paradox in the scenario. The offense move the chains because the RT field in his primary duty and succeeded as a football player. Why I see their response as philosophy not science.

You see one cent more as the highest bid. One cent more is the highest bid. Sorry I don't know every members secret language and when they say "X" I should know they mean "Y".
You said they always go with the highest bidder. You did not mean that which is fine, just say "I didn't mean that" and everyone would have moved on. emoji

Lots of people feel there's no upside to going to the Giants, because they haven'y had a winning culture here. There's some truth to that, but the smart ones know also that there's no place like the big apple when you do win. These things are cyclical, unless you were lucky enough to have Brady and Belichick for 20 years. Look at the Pats before they both came and you see year after year of a pathetic culture 9 of 10 years. Anyways, takiing the Giant's offer and then getting to play for the Giants is still the icing on the cake, imo No place I'd rather win, Bradberry at least had tio feel he got a square deal from DG at Carolina. If he didn't like, or trust the man, he might have settled for a couple mil less where he liked the city and the culture and the GM's rep more.
