people forget Ross played like he was a legit good 1st round pick during this run Not coincidentally this was the only extended period of time he was healthy

I wonder if they are adjusting the time for the guys that are in different time zones since it's not live? Man, A LOT of plays that may have been overlooked but definitely kept NYG in the game in first half. I have Fox East and West and it's on both at the moment

That defense was good. They made NE pay for every yard.

It's amazing watching how much the game has changed even from this year to the past 5 years..
You can still play some semblance of defense (hell i saw Brady get touched on the helmet 3 times already and no roughing the passer penalties)
The hyper speed all over the field on offense on both sides isn't a factor at all,so teams can play more base (though the Patriots were at this time playing in the proto air raid style their Erheart/Perkins would evolve into all over college and now the pros
Spags is a totally different DC when he has players that fit what he does..you give him his players he is possibly one of the best big game DCs in the league..

This TD drive by the Patriots Adjustment..quick drops and ball out neutralized the pass rush. All option routes were underneath and Stallworth was the deep decoy Brilliant adjustment

if 41 on the Patriots doesn't make that tackle on that kickoff Hixon had a lot of green in front of him.

David Tyree should have been MVP.

Textbook why you never play off when no safety help Buress was scoring on that play no matter how he adjusted that route as he had no safety help at all.. Especially if you are bringing heat like that...

4th quarter Eli is why he received the MVP.

here comes the Jay Alford splash
Too bad he ripped his knee up the following summer...he could have been really good and all indications were that he was legit in camp

4th quarter Eli as why he received the MVP. Still arguably one of the most clutch big game qbs in history.... Let's hope Jones has that trait

I just remember that first Brady bomb to Moss and seeing he had the step. Thank God that pass didn’t have 3 more yards on it. To me that’s the greatest game in Giants history. Not an argument because it’s subjective to each fan. Still some chills and a little rush watching Tyree, Burress and the Alford sack. Almost like a flashback.

Omg... Tuck, Strahan, an Osi were beasts!!! One of them should have been MVP... but that was the problem. Which one? Tuck and honestly it wasn't really close. He was robbed. Great 4th quarter by Eli though.

I just keep looking at everyone thinking how young they look. Even Bradshaw. Then I wonder if I have aged as much as these guys.

Couple of huge plays that didn’t stick in the memory so much:
(1) Defensive stop after Chase Blackburn failed to get off the field in time on the Pats’ first drive of the second half. Huge sack by Strahan on 3rd down.
(2) Steve Smith completion on 3rd and 11 on the last drive.

Unfortunately if Eli didn't have that 2 minute comeback no one on our team gets the MVP. They were great but can't give up the go ahead at that point in the game. Brady was barely touched on that drive and the defense was gassed even after sitting most of that first quarter with the running game eating up clock.

Especially if you are bringing heat like that... Spike Lee’s “The Greatest Catch Ever” has a lot of honest and excellent info from Rodney Harrison about both matchups that season. He tried to get Seau to change that call and knew Burress 1 on 1 with Hobbs was ballgame. Especially after he was doubled all over the field for most of the game.

Exactly, which is why the game is not as enjoyable to watch anymore.

It looked like Coughlin had stern words with Quinn after that 12 man deal--may have been indecisiveness on Quinns part because we all know he(TC) isn't afraid to rip players(like when Smith bobbled that pass and it got picked). I thought the catches Toomer made were big. Even when drives stalled they at least served to keep that 2007 offensive juggernaut off the field. Great game planning by NYG KNOWING text book BB would try to take Plax away. Eli said every time they ran that end zone crosser in practice Tyree dropped the pass. SO many huge timely plays made by the kids on the team. Mitchell was a huge FA signing for that year.

WHAT A DRAFT!!! People call it Accorsi's draft, others Reeses's draft. Whoever/whatever, Gettleman was in the mix too. Has there ever been a draft where more rooks played a role in a Championship than that '07 draft? Big plays from Smith, Boss, Bradshaw, Ross, Webster, and Alford. Did I miss anyone? That was definitely inspired defense, and a complete team win.

1. That was big.
2. Steve had a really good game, as did a lot of the rookies.
Tuck truly deserved the MVP, and the defense really played a helluva game. I haven't seen the Giants D shedding blocks in a long time.

Debatable. I saw scrolling today that Osi was the highest rated player by PFF in that game so clearly he was the best defender. 😎

Both defenses were great. The Giant defense peaked at exactly the right time. Watching it again today reminded me how many other guys on that defense had great games that day. Man, they played awesome.
