Debatable. I saw scrolling today that Osi was the highest rated player by PFF in that game so clearly he was the best defender. ๐
There you have it! I stand corrected! The football nerds have won!
Soon we won't even have to watch games anymore. They'll just publish scores and stats based on what they think should have happened.

WHAT A DRAFT!!! People call it Accorsi's draft, others Reeses's draft. Whoever/whatever, Gettleman was in the mix too. Has there ever been a draft where more rooks played a role in a Championship than that '07 draft? Big plays from Smith, Boss, Bradshaw, Ross, Webster, and Alford. Did I miss anyone? That was definitely inspired defense, and a complete team win.
Dave was our Director of Pro Personnel. He was in charge of scouting pro players/free agents. He would have been instrumental in the signing of players like Shaun O'Hara, Kareem McKenzie, Plaxico, Kawika Mitchell, Lawrence Tynes, Dominick Hixon, Jeff Feagles, RW McQuarters, Fred Robbins, and Sam Madison, etc.

1. That was big.
2. Steve had a really good game, as did a lot of the rookies.
Tuck truly deserved the MVP, and the defense really played a helluva game. I haven't seen the Giants D shedding blocks in a long time.

But I think he earned it for getting them to that game in 2007. A young QB wins 3 playoff games in a row on the road, throwing no picks against the best team in the NFC East, and then again the next week in Greenbay in crazy cold conditions? He earned that MVP based on his youth. Just MO.

Jerry Reese was Director of Player Personnel from 2004 until he became GM in 2007. Just about all the guys you listed were signed during that time.

I would assume that means Jerry oversaw both college and the pros departments, while Dave was the director for just the pro side. My comment was in response to comments about the 2007 draft class.

Unless someone truly had a standout game, the QB usually does get it, and itโs hard to argue against how well Tuck and the Giants defense played.

Tuck would have been a great choice.

Tuck would have been a great choice. Tuck was text book "firing out low"--damn hard to block. Osi conditioning was just off the charts--he just kept coming. Strahan picked his spots and made big plays. Mitchell truly was underrated that season--made some big plays in the SB, but a HUGE season changing play vs the Skins early '07 and had a pick I believe in that crucial come from behind win vs Buffalo late '07. Just excellent team defense.
