Couldn't recall if there is already a thread on this … my apologies if there is one.
Trading down in the second round also seems like a good way to accumulate picks, and might fall right in line with our need for a center. If Ruiz is gone, and we like Biadacsz or Hennessy, it seems like we could move back 10 picks and still get one of those guys and maybe pick up another third rounder in the process ….

What could give that legs is that the first round will be pretty new to the GMs. For the second, they will have overnight, and the next day to prep for trades, with a much better understanding of how it will flow in the system. I'm expecting more activity in days 2 & 3 over first round.

Good post...that's when we can grab that lost 3rd rounder, as teams will be focused on a player they see drop and can't pass him up...pass rusher, WR....if your scouting department is worth anything, they should be able to find a z receiver at the very least on the second day

I've suggested this a few times but I don't believe I started a thread. I think this is how we can get some picks and will let us pick up a center at a spot where we are more likely to get value.

I’ve had a lot of doubts about whether we will really have a trade down market, but then I read Ian Rappaport saying that the the Redskins have fielded calls (plural) about trades up to 2, which will cost a ton of capital.
So at least one team likes a player so much that it is exploring the idea of spending the big time capital that it will take to get up to 2. And who is that team trying to get ahead of?
Maybe there will be a market after all....

I keep hearing that Tua is less hot than he was and that translates into no trade market to those bringing it up but they are forgetting that there are 4 defensive studs and Herbert. Unfortunately for us, OT is also a premium position so if anyone has these OTs ranked equally with Young, Brown, Okudah and Simmons, they may want to trade up to get their guy. Wouldn't it suck if we end up having to trade up after everyone was thinking trade down I, of course, would want to just stay at 4 in that situation. Hopefully, one of those 4 defensive players a team behind us really wants is there at 4. Heres a new situation - a team at 12 or higher really wants our pick. It is a very good shot all of the Fab 4 are gone but we get a ridiculous haul - say, two 1s, a 2 and a 3 - would you do it? I know it isn't likely but most of us are thinking "don't trade down too far or we'll miss out on one of the Fab 4!" I'm just wondering what would it take to be OK with missing out on them, grabbing Queen, Murray, CJ Henderson or Chaisson with our first pick and then one of the second tier, need a 1/2 year to year on the bench, OTs with our second pick?

Two firsts, a second and a third to trade back to 12? Sign me up. I’m sold on getting one of the fab 4 (...3?), but there’s a lot of talent in this draft and we could turn out to be pretty darn scary adding some of the players who’d be available.

OK, I made that too easy What is the minimum you would take to trade back knowing you would miss out on all four of the Fab 4? For me, it would have to start with one of the teams in the 11 to 20 range and I would add from there. Cleveland would also be too easy because I'm pretty sure one of the Fab 4 are still there.

If the Raiders offered both of their first rounders (12 and 19) it would be a tough decision to pick or take the trade. If they added in their 2nd or 3rd round pick, it's pretty much a no-brainer to me.

Agreed. I'm not kidding, unless there was a player I absolutely wanted, if I were a GM I'd look to trade down every pick. I don't get why teams don't do it more often.

That looks less likely now so harder to make that trade. The question is are we better with Fab 4 and what we can get at 36 or one of the 4 players I mentioned at 12, a second-tier tackle at 19 and whoever we get at 36?

If they even have a player the covet with that mindset at all. I have to only assume that they may be ok with Thomas, Wills, or Wirfs, for example, but there is only 1 Simmons if thats who they covet.

Has to be the Dolphins and they want to be 100% assured they get their guy Redskins will ask for a lot for them to pass on Young If Im Washington im asking for picks 5,18,both their 2nds and next year's 1st(spread the picks out a bit)to even begin discussing missing on this guy

If we move back to 12 we will get jumped for the last Olineman by the Bucs quite possibly, but would still get 2 or 3 very good players, the likes of Jeudy or Lamn, and Murray or Queen, even get creative, trade down from 19, get a lower first rounder, and maybe yet another 2nd or 3rd and 4th.
