It’s going to be damn competitive this year. Dallas on paper again looks stacked. Eagles suffered so many injuries last year. Skins are pretty good on Defense. Not sure about Haskins and their offense however It just seems like we are sooooo far behind the pack and I really am trying to stay positive. We have no standout player other then Barkley. No Defense or Offense is worried about any of our players except him. I understand that we are rebuilding but we totally blew it up and are starting from scratch. I know ProBowls aren’t a measuring stick on talent but we were the only team in the entire NFC that didn’t send at least one player. It even seems like our picks whoever it is usually is just blown by on draft night and they move on to the next team much faster Someone cheer me up. Steven A Smith just crushed me talking about how bad our pick was and one of the worst first round choice. I guess 11 wins in 3 seasons takes its toll Your not wrong for feeling that way . Gettleman ignored our biggest weakness which is pass rusher and linebacker . Steven A , can be a jerk sometimes but he's isn't lying when he says that our defense has no stand outs. People on this board will tell you how great gettleman is but when we have another 4-5 win season again because our defense still absolutely sucks then you can be the judge of that yourself . QBs will once again shred us and every game we will need the offense to put up 50 to win, and it's not going to happen . Out of 3 picks , he took 2 lineman because the rest of his hog mollies that he got stink . Great we have a few young corners which amounts to nothing when you can't bring pressure or cover tight ends . Carter and xman are rotational players at best . The eternal optimism on this board about gettleman getting it right this time will be gone the first time this defense gets destroyed next year . He sucks , hopefully this will be the last year we have to deal with him, because we will get 5 wins max . Some people on this board are dilusional , and think we are loaded with talent . If that's the case it certainly doesnt show up in the W column . This tackle we picked at 4 better be 100% the real deal because if he's isn't we just set ourselves back years . Well, as you and Smith know well, the same issue on the other side of the ball isn't a solution. Since I didn't hear any realistic nor constructive counter proposals from Smith I'm left to assume he has none. Thus given the choice of going with a team that have forgotten more about football than Smith could ever hope to learn, or the teevee talker, I'm OK with the picks.

At this point they are what they are .. im not a GM nor do I claim to be . However I've been around the game of football for a long time and it just seems that the Giants are blind to some of their biggest issues . They keep taking corner after corner and the giants for years have ruined talented corners .. as fans we all complain this guy sucks or this guy can't cover when in all honesty its not their fault . Not having an ounce of pass rush , or having a tight end streak down the middle of the field kills these guys constantly . The giants gm's have tried to fill linebackers with late round picks or guys that are at the bottom of the top tier and there is a difference.. I'm not saying that every once in a while u won't get a great player in a later round but it never seems to work for the Giants defense . Connelly showed promise but he's only as good as his ability to stay on the field . This defense needed a guy like Simmons in the worst way and again it was ignored .. we passed on Josh Allen last year at 6 for Daniel Jones . Its worked out better than expected bc Jones played above what anyone expected last year but at the time of the draft Josh Allen should have been the pick with Jones at 17.. we can argue back and fourth all we want about whether he was worth it or not . Picking a lineman Is a safe pick but when it's your defense that continuously costs you games it wasn't the best pick. Gettlemans track record of picking hog mollies has not been good for us . Solder stinks and he was brought in by gettleman and paid tons .. Thomas is here now , and he's a giant .. I hope for his sake that he's a beast bc if gettleman missed this team is in big trouble for many years . Not taking a single pass rusher or WR is criminal .

They took a few of each. also Josh Allen over a potential franchise QB is a moot point and is not part of a valid argument. Drafting a franchise QB trumps everything else. Thomas is the best overall OT in the draft. Was the right pick as Simmons could have been too depending in your view. No right answer there

I understand what you're saying and can see your concerns. I obviously do not agree with everything in your post but I certainly appreciate and echo the frustration. I'm not concerned very much with the WR. We have years of drafting skill guys that added absolutely nothing materially to the success of the team. I hated it then and I'm happy as hell that we have finally stopped making those same mistakes year after year. Given the deep more urgent needs, a WR pick would have been a late one, this team isn't a player or two away so the need for a WR is hardly urgent. I'm OK with passing on a late round hope pick there. As far as the defense is concerned, I would have liked a pass rusher too, but not at the expense of building a long term solution with the OL. I watched for nearly a decade now what a crap OL does for you in the NFL. I agree a crap D will not get you anywhere either but you can't do everything at once. I have no problem with the FO finally getting serious - after a decade of ****ing up the most basic of needs in order to be a good football team - and prioritizing the OL over a pass rusher.

Simmoms...again....we have a similar guy we took at 36 with McKinney, teamed with Peppers ...you don't take a guy like that over a franchise LT...ever.. Get Waddle,Chase, ect next year and the offense is complete...

Waddle,Chase..ext next year with a finished Oine opposite Slayton with Barkley....in a 12.... I can see them hopefully waiting to get that home run next year Who is to say Xman (who if he had the same amount of snaps Golden did would have had close to 10 sacks as a rookie)or Carter don't develop this year. When the secondary gells how much you want to bet those pressures by Williams,Tomlinson and Lawrence don't turn into sacks... Who was New England's dominant edge rusher the past few years? They seemed to do a good job limiting TEs (key word is limit TEs because today's TEs are virtually impossible to stop all the time ) Lore knows we went full spray and pray at linebacker at the end of day 3...

Damn well should have. This is the moron that thought Haskins was more of a runner than a passer and then judging by Haskins stats over Daniels, went the race card. Well here we are now. Hes an actual fool and I thought after his and Max Kellermans comments on Jones, particularly where he called Jones a Day 2 guy after NEVER watching him play, there would be a change in everyones perception of these media talking heads. I just dont buy it anymore. If you played football, I'll listen to you to a degree. If you havent, your opinion is just as uneducated as mine. He is the stereo typing Racist he looked at Haskins and saw the color of his skin and labeled him a running QB. The truth was he was a pure pocket passer with an Eli Manning type 40 guy is a moron. Haskins will thrive because of his arm. Pulling the race card was offensive to both Haskins and Jones. As you said a guy who played Shaun Ohara loved Thomas in his pre draft breakdown think he is a little more qualified. I have never watched Smith for a full show turned it on once or twice and said I will not give this clown ratings. Every time I've ever watched him I can't take any more after 5 - 10 mins. Imagine he makes $8MM a year (and, we don't, lol). His ignorance shines through repeatedly, yet ESPN keeps him on... so, I always tune him out. jjtrees… Thomas might not end up being a top 10 all time NFL OT, but he'll do just fine. We don't have another Flowers. I've been watching football since 1958 and I've seen teams rise and fall. We are on the right track and I believe Judge just may be our coach for a long time... which means... we're on the rise.
