either way, for the price, Engram is a good player to have on the team under his rookie contract even if the options are used. The NFL will figure the other stuff out I have to think the NFL and the NFLPA have already discussed how that would work. The union would definitely want the year to count for vestment reasons, which would mean, i2021 would be considered the 5th year. The real Point of contention is whether players should get paid for a cancelled 2020 season....as the CBA currently reads, the players have a hell of an argument to get paid for 2020, since there is no force majeure clause in the contract. It will be interesting to see how a cancelled 2020 would affect the 2021 cap ceiling....as revenues for 2020 would show a massive deficit, if salaries are paid to players during a cancelled season. A lot of that rides on the media contracts the teams and league have. Do the networks still have to pay the owners and NFL? If so thats probably over 60% of their income stream. They could weather a cancelled season and pay the players.

I don't know what you're looking at. He was 6th in yds per game in 2019. Even with the missed games, he's statistically among the top TE's since he came into the league. They are on a straight decline. That much is not lost on the Giants and the rest of the NFL.....enter Kaden Smith. Which stat? Receptions and yards per game have gone up every year. He was once pace to have his best season in every meaningful (and unmeaningful) category last year. Where are you getting your information?
