They should take a look at Kaepernick. It'll hurt some fans' feelings, but the owners have to prioritize the winning of games over the feelings of some fans. I'm not saying Kap is a super star, but he's objectively better than many of the other options out there. It's foolish not to consider him. Putting all the PR BS aside. Kaepernick is a tough guy to have as a back up because he is built for a very different kind of scheme.
One scheme for Eli and then a completely different one for the back up won't work.
Kaepernick would be a better fit in a place like Seattle.
BTW...welcome to the new boards.

As Shurmur said, he wants an experienced. guy as a back-up QB. If they can find one that's better than Tanney, I think they'll sign him. It is hard to call Tanney an experience guy isn't it? 7 teams, 14 passes, no starts doesn't meet the threshold of "experience" for me.
There is something they aren't telling us. I don't know what it is but based on everything we know, it just doesn't add up for me.

This new regime is confusing the neck out of me.

Thanks, it's good to see that there is another place to have some Giants related rants. You're probably right about the scheme not being a good fit. It just seems like Kaep is a unique athlete and could still thrive even if it was in an offense designed for Eli Manning.

He dropped like 30 pounds after he got his contract and subsequently lost the ability to take a hit. He lost his unique size/athleticism. Doubtful he is in game shape or could ever become what he was...like morehead said even at his best he requires a unique situation. As a QB he is a stinker.
