Because its never too early... I cant wait to see how far off this is a year from now. Highlights: Jags take Trevor Lawrence #1 overall. Lawrence and Minshew battle of the hair! Redskins take Shaun Wade CB from Ohio State (CB factory!) 3rd overall. Giants take Micah Parsons LB 6'3" 245LB (I think I like this pick) 5th overall (but not us picking 5th overall. Goodbye Gettleman). Parsons is this draft's version of Isaiah Simmons. He's a tremendous, playmaking athlete that can fill several roles comfortably at the next level.
Jets take my favorite WR (As of now) Ja'Mar Chase 6th Panthers go QB Justin Fields 7th Detroit goes QB Trey Lance 8th Colts go QB KJ Costello 14th Cowboys go VT DB Caleb Farley 22nd overall Bucs go with Minnesota QB Tanner Morgan 23rd to learn behind a year of Brady Steelers go with Bens replacement QB Jamie Newman from Georgia 25th Eagles go DL Aidan Hutchinson with the 28th pick. NAh they arent picking 28th. Chiefs beat 49ers again in the SB apparently. Also wont happen. www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2021-nfl-mock-draft-steelers-lions-take-qbs-as-six-go-in-round-1-patrick-surtain-ii-off-board-early/

I'm going Chase/Waddle..
We waited long enough to replace the explosive element we lost when we traded away Odell
Last piece of the puzzle for the offense (not to mention Tate is probably cut and who knows if Shepard is playing either )..top 5 offense with the line rebuilt,Barkley,Slayton Kaden Smith We will probably be picking in the 8-15 range so this is prime position to get this (all the defensive studs and the OT from Oregon along with the top 2 qbs are taken)
Interestingly a lot of players on defense that have fathers that played Asanti Samuel's son as well as Surtain... Very deep corner and linebacker draft as well..

Giants pick somewhere in the mid to late teens No top ten pick for them next season. If they actually play in 2020.
Thats as far as I go with my hot take on the 2021 draft

Nothing like trading back into the first round for a cornerback who enjoys high stakes gambling, robbing the losses back, missing meetings, sleeping in meetings, being lazy, and the idiocy to not only not understand a playbook, but create more ammunition of it being the defensive coordinator's fault with JB's far too "difficult" x and o placement, lol...only pre programmed minds of Giant fans and the "has to pay for the lack of talent hate" could use that creepy Bettcher excuse with conviction and believe they are somewhat sane. Oh, alleged robbing, gambling, sleeping, missing meetings, being lazy, a dumbass... and not understanding playbooks. At least he's not allegedly involved with drugs, murder or buying Bently's for his mom ...so there is some positives at this point. Oh wait...scratch that last one off. All said and debated forgiveness or not endlessly ... we need cornerbacks again...obviously. This mock gave me Trevor Lawrence at the 6 pick, and for what it's worth...if we are picking at 6 again, and Lawrence is sitting there...say goodbye to DG, possibly Judge, and probably Jones... unless we lose 12 games while still scoring 40 points per.... Well, the silly too early mocks have begun, and without a season of Saturday pleasure to salivate over, and move players around as some emerge and drop... gonna be a tough time evaluating players as sophomores who did not play much going into later rounds. 6: R1P6 QB TREVOR LAWRENCECLEMSON The closer we get to the top spot, the easier it will be to select him. We finish with 1-2 wins, and have the number 1 pick...he is easily the pick. Fans will not be too happy if this happens, and DG will be the goodbye guy. 38: R2P6 C CREED HUMPHREYOKLAHOMA If he plays like last year, he's an easy need value pick here...number 66 can play right guard and we can save some cap space. 70: R3P6 CB PAULSON ADEBOSTANFORD As of now, nice sized corner. In case anybody missed it, our draft pick enjoys using a gun to get gambling losses back...allegedly. We can only now feel the full impact of what the James Bettcher playbook can do to 1st round corners....subliminal violent messages between naps. can you blame Baker? Thankfully Bettcher is gone, and the defense can now live up to its talent. 109: R4P6 WR CHRIS OLAVEOHIO STATE I did manage to watch this kid from last year, and if we are playing a college season this year, he should make his name. We need a few weapons this year. 186: R6P6 TE NICK LENNERSKANSAS STATE Not baby Gronk...won't Penn State be fun this year with that talent BTW?...but this senior is 6'5 and 250 pounds who lines up all over...hybrid fullback with great hands. 230: R7P6 RB TREY SERMONOHIO STATE Lenners and Sermon will both add to the physical aspect of this offense.

Heh If Lawrence drops to 6(even if not playing one play next year if there is no season) All 5 GMs ahead of us that pass on him that have a qb need or refuse to trade back are all instantaneously fired.... I reserve judgment on your next 2 picks as while I personally think both don't make it out of the 1st.. We were all thinking Badiasz would be a major steal early in tbe 2nd for most of the process..

I havent done ANY research into 2021, but WR, CB and possibly EDGE and Center seem like our biggest needs

I havent done ANY research into 2021, but WR, CB and possibly EDGE and Center seem like our biggest needs Honestly as of this date WR is number 1 needs wise(and a blue chip stacked class) Probably best % for BPA/needs/value with our 1st rounder and could double dip especially after cutting Tate(and who knows if Shepard is still here ) Again,do not want to pay a FA at this spot We could have a good pass rush with what we have, especially if these kids develop and the D front converts pressures to sacks(not to mention we probably won't be picking high enough for the blue chippers ala Rousseau or Thomas) CB...lets see how all this shakes out ...very deep class again ...Beal headed to year 4 next year ..wouldn't mind a BPA shot here C Again...Humphries probably is a late 1st rounder, very deep C class as well... But let's see how Gates/Lemeux turn out...Lemeux probably is a starter somewhere inside for a while..

Initially i want to go WR in the 1st as well for the reasons you previously mentioned, we have Slayton, a past his prime slot wr, a slot wr who is 1 hit away from his career being over, and a bunch of udfa nobody's. I have faith that X is going to improve greatly, he DID come from a small D2 or 3 (i believe) school and did decent in his rookie season. Carter isnt really a pass rush threat, but an otherwise well rounded LB, so IMO depending on how X does, a pass rusher isnt the #1 need. At CB our only proven is Bradbury, who knows if Baker will ever play again, Beal and Ballentine were rough to watch and got picked on by opposition qbs. Im not sure how Love is going to be back at CB, I would think fine being that it is his natural position, but CB MIGHT be a big need , depending on how Bakers situation plays out. Lemieux is going to find a starting position SOMEWHERE on this line, either at C or RG when Zeitler is done here. I am really liking this kid, but that doesnt mean i wouldn't take a shot on Humphreys, dude looked damned good at center last year

Yeah, how hard is this draft going to be without a college season?...as you mention, any junior that returned to school and plays a season could become junior.... has beens. Only way I get a grasp of the players is by watching the games and reading on the reports of NFL quality before a game...it's how we discovered Mims, Becton and the rest...giving us those players accordingly to the early fan speak big boards in the 7th round. As of now, the Giants are 6.5 wins for over and under bets. I believe they were 6 last year in sin city. That bet all hinges on Jones...if he settles into more protection and takes that next step, I'm at 8 wins. If he continues to fumble, and does a regress...look for the Trevor tank talk to begin if we are anywhere near last year... The lack of Baker on the secondary, the late season Baker...will crush this team into the 1 win zone if Jones regresses. No pass rush, no coverage ...can get ugly. Positional needs are center, edge (deeper projection this year) wide receiver and cornerback...and when Leonard Williams hit's the open market, another tackle.

While I would love Chase/Ross/Waddle in the first, taking a skills positions too often in the first round is one of the reasons they got in this mess. In the last 10 drafts theyve taken 2 RBs, 1 WR, 1 TE and 3 CBs in the first round.
With that said, just need to see how this season plays out. Rousseau would be incredible but hes likely a top 5 pick. For the Giants to be in top 5 again Jones either turned the ball over 20+ times or the defense was just as bad as last year. Im thinking itll be the defense but who knows.
If the Giants took a WR in round 2 or traded back up for say Waddle, Devonte Smith, Bateman or Moore, that would be a win.

Also keep in mind skill position players are often paid the most in free agency...(CB,WR and ill even include pass rushers and now OTs in this) So breaking this down l even further Good OTs and edge rushers are the rarest ..ans should be paid.. Then next in scarcity are good cover corners(despite the huge increase in corners being drafted and early every year, a low % of these guys are any good...look at how many misses both Philly and Dallas had with their 2017 hauls) WRs seem to come in and be good right away at the highest rate... So tbe way I see it is get your dynamic guy early and have him on a rookie deal for 5 years and either trade him after year 4 or let walk and have a replacement on the squad already.. Combined with best case scenario our depth chart at WR will be Slayton,Shepard and irrelevant (maybe a decent backup ).. I really think taking one of these guys with our 1st is the best way to go..especially picking in tbe 8-17 range i feel we will be picking... To me the question is if we are down at 17 or so..we don't have an established C yet.. Do you once and for all take Humphries(He will be a 1st rounder)and have your potential starting O line all be 26 and under and potentially a long term top unit where all 5 are really good? This is where I think I wait till round 2 for the WR..get a guy like Coxie or Nico Collins.. So the theory of drafting one high

this team needs chase, not another LB, and I loved simmons. a guy like surrat or cox would be way better value in the 2nd.

Wonder how they would do the draft if they couldnt.
