I was under the belief the Giants don't have much to work with so I don't see that happening. Yeah, that would certainly be a concrete determination. I haven't been keeping up with that situation, there have been conflicting numbers thrown around here, and then the whole Leonard Williams debate. I'm in the same situation and I have no idea where to go find the actual number plus what they want to keep in reserve.

I'm in the same situation and I have no idea where to go find the actual number plus what they want to keep in reserve. With the league potentially virus testing all the players regularly, pulling them before games and quarantining - it would seem teams would want to keep more in reserve. Then again, maintaining a roster of quality starters in each unit would seem more beneficial than ever too.

Yet he has done nothing to justify his contract. A TE we picked up off wavers made Collins his bitch. If we trade Golden this offseason with his less than 5 million dollar contract ,we are getting at least 2nd round value for him. I am calling it. Why would anybody Give up a second round pick when they could just sign them as a free agent? Even if he was signed we couldn’t get more than a fifth or six rounder for him Explain your point: Here is mine any team this year is cap strapped and thinks they need a finishing piece . Golden is ripe for a trade with his 5 million dollar contract. So with that said So if a team is cap strapped or needs a edge rusher for this season . Why give him what he wants 10 + when you can trade for him locked in cheap and a 2nd? So explain why as a GM you would sing him as a FA?

If that was the case he would have signed. He wants a long term deal and the money to go with it. What the Giants did was brilliant. They have a 10 sack edge rusher on a cheep contract that is ripe to trade for to a contender.

I don't see what the big deal is about giving a guy who had 10 sacks last year a better pay day, he's earned it. I also think teams are waiting to see what kind of offers he receives to see if they want to match them, personally I think the Giants are just playing a waiting game and will eventually resign him since he can rush the passer and that exactly what our defense needs...

If he isn't signed in 12 days, he is playing for the Giants this year. Also, I don't think the Giants had any intention on signing him long term or they would have already done that....

Today’s the day. What time does it become official?

Today’s the day. What time does it become official? Crazy, I initially thought Golden would have signed to another team quickly. Perhaps his agent advised him that his value was much more than reality? Anyway, if Golden isn't signed by another team within the next few hours, he will be a Giant again in 2020 and that gives the Giants a decent pass-rusher in a team devoid of pass-rushers. Also, Golden knows that he needs to perform well this year if he hopes to get the contract he desires in 2021. Win - win IMO...

I think he looks goofy with that big, dumb looking helmet. I'm pretty sure that has harmed his market value.

I think he looks goofy with that big, dumb looking helmet. I'm pretty sure that has harmed his market value. What are you referring to with this? I think this whole COVID thing has just thrown teams off their games and didn't want to bring in a player like Golden without being able to bring him in at all.

If we can get Golden on a cheap 1-2 year deal Id be very happy.

A years worth of game tape should be enough..

Frackwell looks good getting off the ball beating his blocker and maybe Xman can develop after that rookie year to be more disruptive..

He had 10 sacks with 83% of the snaps. He's not going to get anywhere near that amount of playing time. Solid leader, but there's a reason why 3 months into free agency, he's still waiting for the phone to ring,

Fackrell is not on my list of pass rushers until I see him play. He had 1 year where he racked up sacks and 3 very subpar years. Not saying he cant play to that 10.5 sack 2018, but I need to see it to believe it. Ximines I have hopes for, but IMO Golden is still the best pass rusher right now.

Maybe 60-70% is ideal for him. And we have to remember he was still recovering from his ACL injury. Before he got hurt in Arizona he was coming on big time and looked like a budding star. 12.5 sacks and 22 QB hits in 2016. Last year was 10 sacks and 27 QB hits (imagine he had help). A cheap 1-2 year deal and I am loving it.

The same was said about Golden when he came over that you are saying about Fackrell.. The tape I saw was fackwell is the better player especially beating his blocker. So far Golden is not signed and I don't know if the Giants have to sign him now that he was designated or if they can refuse and withdraw what they did..

Hasn't the Giant philosophy always been you can't have too many pass rushers. Xman is more hope than substance, Frackwell needs to get back to his play from 2 years ago. Neither inspires a great deal of confidence in me. I'm hopeful but that's where it ends.
What in the world is wrong with bringing someone back in that had double digit sacks last year at a league minimum for 1 year ?

The Giants philosophy over the past few years has been..."you can't have ANY pass rushers"

The biggest thing on Golden when he came over was that he was still rehabilitating from that devastating injury he had, and previous to the injury he was a sacker. 2019 was his first full season back from that injury, and I think he got almost to where he was in 2016. I think now he is there and it would show with him getting to the QB. Golden was a full time starter. Fackrell was a role player last year, and his whole career. He was healthy all 16 games and only played 40% of the snaps with 1 sack. Not one start. I think Fackrell is a solid role player, hopefully he can turn into a diamond in the rough here and be a great rotational guy.

Does Fackrell work in Texas or something? North Dakota maybe? Apparently you guys think he fracks well. I have no knowledge of that.
