That means no Jets or Pats.

Wouldn't surprise me if the whole season ends up being scrapped.

Wouldn't surprise me if the whole season ends up being scrapped. Certainly might, but this makes sense. Gives the teams extra time to practice and in case someone tests positive after game 3 they have proper time to rest until the season begins.

It's a tough one Rosie; let's see where we're at in August.....New Zealand basically eradicated the virus and had rugby with 43,000 people in the stands with no social distancing....

Hopefully this is permanent. The costs of four preseason games, in my opinion, outweigh the rewards.
Maybe I'm still traumatized by the Seahorn injury.

The only thing I do like about preseason are the Victor Cruz stories. Players who "shouldn't have made it," or were overlooked, but take advantage of an opportunity once given a chance. They can make generational talent, where as they might not if given the chance to perform in pre season. That said, I also tend to think this is why a minor league system of sorts should be able to work for football. Stop trying to make it a spectacle like the XFL. Have a farm system in cities without NFL Teams, provide players an opportunity to prove themselves, and allow these players to back fill NFL rosters as needed.

This could be the expansion into Europe the NFL is looking for. Have a minor league team in a certain city/country in Europe, and have them align with a specific NFL team.

That was a long time ago, though. I also think the approach these previous leagues have taken were to be a replacement, or an addition, to the NFL. I'm saying they should structure an actual farm system. The minor teams would align with the NFL teams, just like in baseball. I don't think and actual farm system would be a terrible idea.

It'd be another revenue stream for the NFL. Small markets could get a team to root for, and if they aren't NFL fans they'd likely gravitate to the NFL team they're aligned to. As long as it wasn't a league trying to compete with the NFL, I think it could work.

I have to admit I didn't watch the league that was on last year. Since the product of the NFL currently has so many blemishes especially with penalties and poor tackling that I wasn't interested in seeing an even a lesser version of that. I also don't watch college except for the final 4 but that's due to the inequality of the programs..

The NFLPA is contractually obligated to play up to 4 preseason games, which is not to say the NFL is not aware of the player's concerns.

The whole season will ultimately get scrapped. I just don't see how this can work with everything that is going on.

You are correct, that the owners could force the issue, and they very well may, but they do have a better rapport with the players union than Baseball (bunch of dunderheads), so there is a chance of them sitting down and working it out properly.
