This amount of money is amazing but don't know how you can look 10 years down the road and gage the amount of money. Hell it may be chump change for an NFL QB by then. We knew KC had to sign him but nobody even knows what the cap will be next year. Or even what happens this year if there's a season or not. Next up Lamar Jackson lets see how close he gets to Mahomes. Normally I'd agree but I don't think $45m a year will ever be "chump change". There are many bad contracts out there. This one will be good for the first 4 maybe, but the last 4 might be brutal. Also to note, coronavirus will lose a lot of NFL money. Big time contracts might start going backwards for the first time in the NFL due to it if they cant fill stadiums HaHa your right, I don't think 45 mil per year will ever be chump change either.

Yet they agreed on a 10 year contract. 80-90% guaranteed. With a injury bail out of 141 mil I believe. Though I would think this will only be a QB thing, but now the door is open.

From the articles I posted, he has 70-80 mill guaranteed. The 141 number is if they cut him for an injury. The contract is over 450 mill. Where are you hearing over 400 is guaranteed?

Guaranteed at the signing $63,081,905. Average per year $45,000,000.

Which is strange, usually a new contract will replace the existing one. It appears his current contract continues, and then the new one starts in 2 years.

Yea I think they said he's 5 mil and change against the cap in 2020. I can't wait to find out what next years cap is going to be. This deal could fit right in or be a back breaker.

And revenue is not going to be good in 2020. We've had discussions in other threads about the cap possibly going down, which has never happened. Going to be interesting.
