Some players like Golden are in a tough spot in terms of their age/future. He opts out, there might not be any opting back.

That's a great deal for the Giants. While I don't think he is a great player, he is quite good, and well worth that contract. Well played by DG.

He hasn't signed yet ? Hey Markus you got a job.
We can use him desperately he was one of only 6 or 7 players who had double digit sacks, was 5th in the league in pressures. This is a great marriage for both him and the Giants. If he has another big year he will get some type money from somebody having back to back good years. Some playoff team should offer him something decent even if it's only for 1 year. So play hard Markus all is not lost.

Good move. Gokden is our best pass rusher. Getting him that cheap is great.

His agent needs to be fired. How does he only earn 4 million after a 10 sack season? I guess quality of sacks counts for something. I hope the team does right by him and negotiates a salary increase. He never complained, tweeted or said a bad word. Good soldiers should be rewarded.
or it could be that the medical staff knows the knee might not hold up long term.

Because there's more to being a valued pass rusher than 10 sacks over 16 games.

Paying guys for being “good soldiers” is a recipe for disaster. You pay guys only for what you think they will contribute on the field.

Which is why Clowney still doesn't have a job because he thinks teams should be lining up because he had 1 freak year as a sophomore in 2013.

He should have been gone as soon DJ walked to the podium. Eli deserved the years he got, but the last two years....We didn't need to give him that much money and should have just hit the reset button and gotten Josh Allen or Darnold.
