"Ive fallen off bikes all the time when I was a kid. No problem. Its a scratch. But they wanted me to go to the ER, so I showed up 5 minutes early but the doctors were late. I had to fine them. "

Tough old coot. He gave us 15 yrs between WR coach 88-90 and 1 SB, and HC 04-15. Hard ass for yrs until that 07 season, and our leader for 2 SB's.
Heal quickly Tom, and call it a career from football.... relax with family and smell the roses.
Always a Giant. Thank you... well appreciated.
Deserving of HOF... hope that happens while he can enjoy the accolades.

This man has survived frostbite and a collision on the sidelines. If anyone can take this and shake it off, it’s Tom Coughlin. I’m sure when he got hurt he got up, and jogged to the hospital. When asked why he didn’t call 911? he just responded with “I didn’t want to be a burden.”
Tom Coughlin is regarded as one of the best head coaches in the 95 years of this franchise. Even the most critical fans can’t keep Coughlin out of the conversation of best head coaches in franchise history. He went from the most hated head coach to a 2x super bowl champion. And it didn’t happen over night, when his career was in limbo in ‘06 and he didn’t know if he was going to last another year, he changed his attitude towards his players and became not just a great head coach, but a mentor. The old hard ass showed he had a soft spot, and dare I say.. A sense of humor. The same players who wanted nothing to do with him, would run through a wall for him.
After winning two super bowls in 4 years he bought a ticket headed to Canton. He was Bill Belichicks kryptonite, the only head coach Giants legend Michael Strahan said he would ever play for. But, this story didn’t have a happy ending. 3 straight losing seasons, disfunction in the locker room, hard to believe when Coughlin ran his ship like a general. Did the game pass him by? Absolutely not. I have always felt the players and management failed him. He did have his issues, the Beckham fiasco. Come on Tom, you’re the head coach. You knew what was going on during the field. Be the leader and sit his ass down for the game. I get it, when your job is on the line and the best player is a head case you turn a blind eye.. The same fans who cheered him turned into jeers. They couldn’t wait for him to be gone, some fans would have driven him to the airport.. 5 minutes late.. Then, we get the news. Tom Coughlin is resigning. But we knew, it was bullshit. The Giants fired him.. And during Tom Coughlins farewell press conference we saw the disgust in his face when he blatantly ignored John Mara. Talk about an awkward moment. I loved it by the way. Going out gracefully is for losers. Be frustrated, show your distraught.
I’ll finish it off with this. Tom Coughlin brought accountability and respectability to a reeling franchise at the time. Since his fire the Giants have been perennial losers. No leadership from the top, and no accountability from the players. Thanks coach for being a role model and a great man for us fans. “Once a Giant, always a Giant.” Get better..

Heard about the great coaches of Giants teams from prior eras from my Dad. In my years of fandom I have had the pleasure of watching Parcells, Belichick, and Coughlin all achieve greatnees with NYG. Heres to hoping Judge is the next one.
Prayers sent TCs way for a speedy recovery.
