Well...I guess he's the RT. They should also give Marcus Golden some extra money.

I'm hoping he comes along as a Center. Pully spent the majority of last season being pushed into the backfield. Hoping Peart shows enough to nail down RT.

Well deserved. The coaching staff last year talked highly of him in the offseason. And has showcased he can be a viable depth player in this league. He can play left and right tackle in a pinch, which is valuable in the NFL. If you don’t have the skill to be a top lineman in this league, you better be versatile. And Gates is versatile, good move by the Giants..

I liked what I saw. Good signing. Keep him here. I thought he was under contract already.

Good For Him! Hopefully he bulked up and gotten strong this off season and is ready to have a break out season at Right Tackle but seems like the hope is for him to eventually take over for Zeitler at Right Guard Maybe?

Looked best to me at right guard when filling in for Zeitler.

You could see by watching him that he was already an upgrade over the stiffs we've had on the right side. This contract affirms that the team sees the same thing. Encouraging that we may have another young piece toward rebuilding the OL.

He is our go to backup OT TG C I think it is going be Fleming, Hernandez, Pully to start season than Lemieux, Zeitler, Thomas may transition to LT at some point this season. And Peart at RT at some point the season. By the end of the season it will be Thomas, Hernandez, Lemieux, Zeitler, Peart.

You don’t get drafted that high to play right tackle. Fleming who seems to be the forgotten man has started over 25 games in this league. If you’re going to entrust a player to block the blindside it’s going to be someone who has played the position. I’m not on board with Lemieux yet. He’s never played the center position, to think he’s going to miraculously be a competent center in a few weeks is asking a lot. Ideally, Thomas and Peart at the tackle positions would be great. Young and inexpensive players at key positions. I still believe we need a legit center. We haven’t had one since O’Hara. At the end of the day, the line has to play well and as a cohesive unit. We will only go as far as the big guys up front with our offense.

Backups that can play multiple positions are valuable. Especially when they actually hold their own when asked to play.

It doesn't make much sense to have a tackle who was actually rated worse than Solder start at LT. Also, I hope Flemming gets beat out at right tackle because he isn't going to get any better and will have the same coaches that he had this year as he dis last year...

Backups that can play mtiple positions are valuable. Especially when they actually hold their own when asked to play. With his versatility he basically is a starter and will likely end up starting a bunch of games once you factor in inevitable injuries.

Right Tackle money. Or Center? 3mill a year is top back up low end starter money, the way he played when he had his chances he has proven he is a solid spot starter and can cover several positions money well spent. Now he has a chance to prove he is more then that a solid starter with a ton of versatility.

To me and it is early but Gates reminds of Dave Diehl don't know if he can be as good but he has that selfless attitude he will play anywhere and hopefully like Deihl won't lose you games.

The hair has gotta go, but I like the Diehl comparison.

Just a good feeling having some legit pieces in place on the OL with depth. think the depth is better then the starters from like 2014 to 2017.

Good. He’s worth that as solid, versatile depth. Possibly worth much more than that. I’m rooting for the kid.
