The same was said about Steve Kerr and he lead the Warriors to several titles. It certainly did help Kerr that he had Curry, Thompson, and Green. The NBA (unlike the NFL) is a player's league and you will have a lot of say in regards to who is hired if you are a star or superstar player. Nash has rapport with both KD and Kyrie, so I can understand why the hire was made. He is a HOF player, so he will already have the respect of the locker room. I'm a lifelong Nets fan and I am very happy about this hire. It certainly is better than hiring a retread that has never won anything as a head coach. I head that we were highly considering Pop, but he seems pretty happy in San Antonio.

This year without all world personnel they sucked. 2nd worst record in the league. If he had taken that Knicks job that he turned down at the last moment they still would have sucked. If the Nets were smart they would have given whatever it took to get Pop. He would have made a difference. Nash winning 55+ in the watered down East with KD and KI won’t prove anything.
