I heard this morning that TV ratings were down 12.2%. When factoring in the increase in live streaming, total ratings were down 11%. Be curious to see what the ratings are for the week. Some interesting games, but the opener and both Monday night games are not going to generate a lot of interest (our interest not withstanding) Sunday nights Cowboys/Rams game might not either. Why not?

How much were the ratings off from the opener last year? Was last year’s opener up against the NBA and NHL playoffs?

Why not? Cowboys/Rams? Not seeing how the Rams have much of a strong following at this point...be interesting to see.

Cowboys/Rams? Not seeing how the Rams have much of a strong following at this point...be interesting to see. As much as we dislike the Cowboys on here, they are a big time draw. They are the most watched team probably in all of American sports. I think that there will be a ton of viewers, both of which will be cowboys fans and haters like us. The Rams don't have much of a following, even out this way. There are more Raiders fans than Chargers and Rams fans combined here in SoCal. It will take those teams 20 to 25 years before they can lay claim to this area.

All grown up .... just like that racist in your avatar? You know, calling my brown Asian wife and family monkey's... You mean the guy that married Yoko Ono? Yeah, that racist jerk. To maintain context - they, the Beatles, were doing a concert in the Philippines during the Marcus regime...they did not like the politics before they even got there, but sure enjoyed the money...that's what they want. To maintain even more context, what was said in the past is now cancelling the present, everywhere we look. Why would this obvious racist statement be washed away... because he married an Asian? I've been married thrice, white, black and now brown...all that says is I'm not doing toilet seats properly....nothing about my own demons.

Awesome! Do the job you're paid millions to do, leave politics off the field! The "politics" happen BEFORE the game. Why are bitching about this? Maybe you meant to say "leave the politics off the field unless the politics are in line with my personal beliefs." No sir, I don't want to hear 1 word about politics during my sports viewership. I watch football to be entertained for 3-6-9 hrs on Sunday & another 3 on MNF & TNF. I can go back to reading or watching politics on the other 4 days of the week that football is not on.

But it's still KC and Houston. Nobody cares about KC or Houston except KC and Houston. I bet the ratings were great in those 2 markets. I watched for a little while, but ultimately I don't care either. And I just tuned out all the other stuff. You know.......like a grown up. You know.......like a grown up? I am guessing, the insults have .....begun. From the guy who posts everything going on his "grown up" life, on a message board main area ...from dog bites to we buy ugly houses purchases, keeping us all riveted. All grown up .... just like that racist in your avatar? You know, calling my brown Asian wife and family monkey's... I'm wondering how fans would react if slain cops families, by the hands of ghetto drug addict slime, were being honored before games in a field draped with blue lives matter with red MAGA end zones? Insults? I insulted no one. My point was, I can pick and choose what I watch or listen to because I am an adult. The rest of your post is your typical bullshit that has nothing to do with anything that I have said. I'll ignore it like I always do.

I watched for a little while, but ultimately I don't care either. And I just tuned out all the other stuff. You know.......like a grown up. KC is a huge draw with Mahommes and the fact that they are SB champs. The NFL has never been driven by individual markets. It's always about the shield. Houston/KC should have brought a huge audience.....especially amid this horrible pandemic.
I disagree. The majority of NFL fans are casual and won't bother watching if it has nothing to do with their favorite team. Unless there is a national fan base like Dallas. There is a reason the NFL now has the ability to flex games. To make sure that they have the best possible draw in that particular time slot. I don't believe that KC or Houston has any draw power to the CASUAL fan outside of those markets I'm sure that the protests and BLM had some impact on the viewership, BUT I wonder how many people would refuse to watch if it was their favorite team or a big national drawing team?

I want to be clear about this- social justice issues played no role in any of it! Didn’t care about the actual game in the slightest.

I didn't bother watching any of the pregame stuff which was different for me, but not a huge loss. I'm not interested in watching politics when I'm watching football. I don't know if they ran a bunch of commercials with the messaging in it because I normally ignore the commercials all together.

It says a lot that the reigning super bowl champs with the best player in the sport in Mahomes didn’t get a good draw. The NFL set this game on the backs of the two richest and most prominent players in Mahomes and Watson. The NFL behind closed doors is concerned. This game a few years ago would have been a huge numbers boost in television ratings. Fans are voicing their opinions loud and clear with this. We want our football, everything else will be met on deaf ears.

MOST football fans are casual and only watch thier favorite team. The SB is it's own draw, so everyone watches that. Outside of that, no one cares.

I really don't agree with your statement that most football are casual. Plus fantasy motivates literally millions of fans to watch games of teams they don't root for. The NFL is a monster. It essentially supersedes all other programming. The shield is the thing.
I think it's pretty clear that some of this stuff by the players is turning some folks off. As I said before, I think it's temporary,.....like it was 3 years ago.
But the NFL has made a calculation that the damage that would be caused by boycotts and other displeasure if they held a strong line on player behavor, was far greater than dealing with some PO'd fans over the protests. Don't have any doubt, the owners hate the protests. But they hate losing money more.

That's fine if you disagree. I guess we will see what happens when teams with a broader fanbase play on a national broadcast night.

I'm sure the NFL is selling itself to advertisers through all formats. They're pretty smart. But I’m asking because I don’t know; do the Nielsen ratings count those eyeballs? Can they account for all the people using not so legal streaming services? Lakers playoff game probably had its effect too. Neilson is bad. How many people here know someone that actually logs into a box to count their demographic every time they watch TV? I have seen this 1 total time ever. Tough to say it is a representative sample.

I had to redo my entire kitchen before we moved in. Here are the before and after pics. I painted the cabinets and resurfaced the old counter top. I also took out the dropped ceiling and florescent lighting, refinished the ceiling and installed some recessed lighting. I can post you some more before and afters of the rest of the house. We completely gutted the master bath and my Beatles room may be of particular interest to you. Just let me know.
