Add me to aging band dudes, in my late 40s but still ripping metal, causing mosh pits. also recorded progressive guitar instrumental albums few years ago. metalhead but love Rush and prog. im a total guitar nerd. cannot freaking wait to gig again, theres nothing like ripping guitar live.
oh, football. I want to see life from my giants, i want to see energy and toughness, see adjustments in game and to come out from halftime even stronger, sooooooo tired of a clueless lost team. in my opinion weve been even worse than the statistics show last few years and the stats are bad.
i just want a football team again. even yesterday ive found myself still watching other teams with a bit of envy, its a reflex now, like i know we're not good enough to even compete with the saints or hell the rams or chiefs, any real team, i know we're not but i just mean we havent even been a threat to any real team in so long, i just want to feel like we're not a pushover. soooo tired of being weak, getting trounced with a secondary completely wide open and clueless.
i have no idea wins and losses, i just want them to compete, to be a force to deal with, not an easy W for anyone to come into our house.
i want some pride back.

just started our Sunday morning softball yesterday. Great league with age ranges from early 20s to late 60s. Couple of guys in their 70s. Fast pitch/wooden bat league. Pretty competitive. I'll be 55 in couple of months. Still like running around. ( wondering "what will I hurt today"..lol) I'll be 55 in Oct and despite the fact that I'm losing some of my faculties, I'm still singing in a band. Well....we're practicing, anyway. Can't really "play" right now. I hope I don't break something when we can finally get back at it. Why do I feel like I’m the younger person on this board at 34? lol I think we play a hard fought game but lose in the end. I think the team needs time to come together

A lot of “if’s” coming into this game. I hope they win, but if they lose I hope they are competitive.

I'm actually going back into the studio in Dec to record 2 prog metal albums I really don't play out because I prefer writing originals and I got sick of only being able to get gigs Tues nights at 1am because nobody wants good live original music acts.. I was in a band where we played the first side of DSOTM, songs from Moving Pictures, Frank Zappa, Heart of the Sunrise by Yes... In a bar with 10 dudes all standing around the stage. I was in a band before I left NY where we played stuff like Brown eyed girl and Santoria and had a line out the door. How many of those dudes were wearing black T shirts? And drinking long neck beers? My guess is 10. My experience is similar to GL's. It's primarily why I only fill in for friend's band now. To play stuff I love to play, there's no audience. To play the stuff the audience loves and is popular is fun. But you have priced your time at about $10 an hour. I'm too old for that. As a fill in for friends, I have fun playing, don't care about the money (or lack thereof) and don't have to do it often enough for it to become a drag.

I think our offense will look OK. I feel like SQB will look better than last year. Our 2ndary, especially CBs, still scares the shit out of me. Pittsburgh is bringing back the same team as last year for the most part, now with a healthy Big Ben. We will out up a fight but i ultimately see a L coming our way. Expect a big game from Dionte Johnson, James Washington, and Eric Ebron

So that’s what it’s come down to? Playing Lube night? lol.....It's restaurant franchise. They host bike nights there. Nice big outside stage and huge parking lot. Biker crowds are the best!! They are. We hosted a ride on Saturday. Beautiful sunny day, a decent three piece band playing and 50 fifty bikers in masks, bitching at me about having to wear them.

I tried my hands at a few instruments, but my dexterity is pretty awful, and I was never able to translate what's in my brain to my hands. Very frustrating. I'm simply a music head, it really does keep me balanced. Rock on guys!!

I found a happy medium between music I enjoy and the crowd also enjoys. I love playing out to a nice size crowd and going home with at least $100 in my pocket. I’ve had enough of playing for a handful of dudes, but I also had enough of Van Morrison and Tom Petty. The band I’m in now, we decided to play mostly songs people know but not the ones every other band plays. We throw in a few crowd pleasers from the Doors and VH. But I like playing them. A great bass line is always a challenge in some way. I’m at that age where I’m going almost too old. Luckily I look 10 years younger than I am. Even more according to some. I love rock and I have great equipment so the whole thing is fun and I appreciate every moment while I can still do it.

I’ve heard over and over today. Barkley all night. If Jones throws for a lot of yards it means we’re behind... Control the clock, keep Rothlisberger off the field.
Get sacks. Lorenzo Carter, it’s time to do something in the NFL. The pressure will be there in the middle, it’s not their jobs to sack the QB. Time for LB’s to be LB’s.

RPO Jet saeeps Establish something to get the safety out of the box The teams that were able to run it yesterday forced teams to respect other things

I don’t know who you’re listening to, I have not heard one analyst say we need to throw to win tonight, they’re all saying the exact opposite.

All the teams that were able to run it starting on Thursday night did something like this to thin out the box or cheat a look

Tate takes way to much cap space imo Oh he will be gone next year, basically was a stop gap vet to mitigate some of what we lost with Odell I wouldn't be surprised if both him and Shepard are both cap deletes next offseason as they really aren't a fit for Garretts passing attack (of course the usual suspects will still insist recievers shouldn't be thought about till the 5th round because its how the team was built in 1990)

Really don't know what will happen tonight. I hope to see intense, smart fundamental football from Big Blue. You get that you have a chance against any team. So many unknowns. No preseason and jumping right into against a team heavily favored with a new coaches, unknown identity... I hope we're competitive. I've heard all good things leading up to tonight... but now we'll see and get an idea what we're about. Lets Go Big Blue!!

Nobody is saying not to throw it, but trying to attack the strength of their defense is not how you beat the Steelers in week 1 with a new offensive line.
