I'm doing this now because let's see how many of these change for better or worse.
Its more a prediction and not nessesarily a need now, though they could be
The goal is to cross as many of these off as the season goes on to make the draft as per BPA as possible.
1. CB
We are thin and inexperienced,
Bradbury is one solution but only for 3 years...Holmes shows promise as a slot guy.
Is Ballentine an actual solution or just a guy that gets replaced eventually?
Beal?
Ideally Bradberry or someone shows they are a good corner that isn't a liability, but even then it's wise to still draft/bolster
Luckily this is another "deep" class in the draft and a bunch of 2017 early picks are going to be flooding the market..
So I think even id Ballentine or someone steps up its still a major need.
2.WR
This one always polarizing with this fan base
There is a subset that doesn't value having great outside guys being conditioned to the old school way of doing things in an era where doing it that way means not having a relevant /good offense, then the rest of us that see how the game has changed and indeed if you ha s dynamic playmakers to threaten evsry inch of field it opens up the entire offense.
But these are the facts
Slayton..is he a guy teams have to really worry about to the point its not all about Barkley or just a moderate annoyance that teams can live with what he does because he can't take over games
Tate is probably not on the team next year
Always 50/50 whether every game could be Shepard's last
Board 2 catches foe 30 yards in his career up to now
Ratley-25 catchss for 250 yards
Now the good news is that Ratley and /or Board can make a case for the future, would be awesome if someone like Ratley becomes the other dynamic thrat opposite Slayton enough where teamw have to thin out the box
Whats obvious is the team definitely is changing the style of attack and types of recievers they are looking for and they will need $$ to resign some players
Conceivably going into 2021 offseason Slayton could be the only relevant WR on tbe roster.
One obvious move would be sign Gallup next year as he is tbe type of WR we are changing to and he is familiar with Garrett (no way he will resign)
But even if we make a latteral move cap wise (Personally I don't want to throw money at WRs for a while and just have as many on rookie deals as possible, unfortunately he would nearly offset the money saved by no Shepard and Tate)they would still need to heavily invest at this position in the draft
So I predict even if a guy like Ratley emerges, like corner its still a major need
3.Edge rushers
This one can go either way.
If tbe front 3 absolutely dominate they can litterally have anyone with even average skills be productive here.
Nevermind Golden and Frackel..its all about Xman and Carter, and the amoeba like linebackers that can be add ons....
My prediction here is that they get enough pass rush as a group that a pass rusher early would end up being a BPA that is beyond obvious "pick me pick me" pick
4.C
I'm putting C here for now ,my prediction is that its a non issue going foward
