Saquan is gone. Some team with a good Oline can sign him because he can't make plays without help. Terrible draft pick. You don't draft RBs in tbe top 10. Lol. No RB can make plays if he has three defensive lineman draped over him when he gets the ball. They don't get it

Saquon Barkley was hit behind the line of scrimmage on 11 of his 15 attempts. That's 73% of his rushes. That's beyond awful. The line should be ashamed.

But was he hesitating to hit the hole at times? Im not sure it was all the lines fault. Lets not forget he had some of these type of games last season after his injury.

It's not Barkley's fault he was picked at 2, it's also not his fault he was called "touched by the hand of God", and it's not his fault the OL has sucked since his first game.
The guy IS an amazing player, but he's been set up to fail by his GM.

Gates flat out sucks as a center. One of my biggest concerns . I was worried about his ability to call the protection. If he does not know what guy he is supposes to block (His guy running free the entire game ) . If he can't see the guy he is supposed to block. How can he call any protection? We need a center pronto.

Has there been a single play he hasn't been hit 2 yards behind the line? Almost as if....Shurmur was calling the plays not the play calling.......

We might be better off with a north south back who hits the LOS quickly...there IS a difference between an EE and SB. tough to hit the LOS when it moves two yards back by the time you get the ball.

It is not the RB fault if the center is double teaming the guards guy and allowing his guy to come untouched.

not the play calling....... So, then we agree...it be lack of talent .... ....the whole run game sucked last night. The Oline, Barkley, the TEs.... they all sucked. I will not only blame Barkley for the run game. He dropped a pass and missed a couple of blocks....thats all on him

We need quick hitters with guys like Hernandez and Thomas. I though Andrew Thomas BTW had a solid 1st NFL game.vs the best defense he ever faced...also agree with GL, the line gets better as the season moves on. Not sold on Gates at center though....agree with TEM...brutal, as was Fleming. I am talking horrific. To think some would have been happy with Solder and Fleming as the starting tackles is even more disturbing...still sore we missed out on a trade back from Barkley and not getting Quenton Nelson. That was the year DG should of began the line rebuild....

The amount of "he's done," "wasted pick," "we should use Lewis/Gallman," and "he reminds me of David Wilson" responses is truly comical.
'There's a difference between EE and SB".......agreed. EE doesn't get hit until he crosses the LOS.
I do not care when a player was picked......1st or 200th......if a player gets hit 2 yards behind the LOS 80% of the time, they won't have success.
This is fundamental and as basic as it gets. Anyone saying anything different does not understand the game of football.

We'll never see what Saquon can really do in this offense if this is going to be a stat every week. This says it all. I think our OL did better than expected in pass protection. Run blocking, they were non existent.

How about the fact that Pittsburgh is a solid team. Ben shook off the rust earlier than I expected and the Giants secondary got mismatched by their receivers.
SB was getting hit in the backfield a number of times so the Giants need to figure that one out quickly or it's going to be a long season for SB
Jones appears to have improved the fumbling but not turnovers. Engram needs to be more of a factor in this offense
Liked Peppers on returns, the DL did have some nice stops & Martinez was all over the field making tackles & the Jones to Slayton was a great play

Hopefully that changes. Gates was schooled....maybe he learns too. Flemming is the lesser of two evils I guess at this point. Thomas looked good when I could zone in on him to actually watch.

Holding on to that ball was an unreal play. The pick with trying to get the ball in the back of the endzone was a dumb mistake for sure. He had a great drive going where he was making plays with his arm, legs and head. he wanted it all!! I was surprised Jones didnt fumble. There two plays specifically where it seemed he would have based on last season

Kinda went the way I feared Gameplan against Barkley with various run blitzes Shockingly it seemed we were able to pass it against their shallow zone a bit But until we can back a team into a deeper zone (that's if we can)its going to be more the same

If the offensive line continues to flounder, which is very likely, Saquon is doomed. As he is in his 3rd season, his window includes this plus 3 or more years. Should the Giants entertain trade offers. Let’s face it, it is hard to imagine Saquon ever reaching his potential in the next few years, so why not get the most from him via trade?we know Gettleman is gone after this year as the season unfolds, and giving a new GM a lot to work with would attract some of the better candidates.
