Still heard about how the 49ers wanted in on Odell and DG never even made an effort to negotiate What was the offer, was it as good as the Browns? If I knew I would have said it Red. And I said "rumor". There were plenty of reports on it though. One was a swap of the 2 first round picks plus a 2nd and more fluff. One was the following years 1st. I heard many variations. Apparently they talked through out the year on dealing Odell, Gettleman and Lynch did. And when he sent him to Cleveland, DG didnt reach out that one last time to Lynch, and Lynch was upset about it because he really wanted Odell. I didnt like the value we got in return. I wanted 2 1st rounders if we were getting the #17 pick, although I do love what we got with that pick. The other pick was Ximines, but it was the later of the Browns 2 3rd round picks. The comp pick they had. And the player was Peppers, who seems like a good S but I dont think will ever reach his draft status of being a 1st rounder. That was the value then. If you look at his value now? The trade worked out for the Giants. Odell for Lawrence, Ximines, Peppers. I am shocked we didnt try to replace Odell though in the years since.

That's my issue as well.. We lucked out with Slayton, but my one major issue with Gettleman is he has that horrible trait where he puts WR in the "irrelevant " category come draft time until later in the draft or at all this past year. I get it,circumstances didn't allow early because we had to fix tbe line but next year, another great clase, get the dynamic guy opposite Slayton to make defenses fear our weapons and open up tbe box..

If this is true, my bet is he ends up in NE. Only if the contract is right. When has Belichick ever taken on a huge contract for a complementary player?

If Odell is cut, his contract is null and void correct? Was he paid all his guaranteed already? If so, Beli would butter him up with a 1 year deal loaded with Belichickian clauses and incentives to make sure he earns it.

Wasn’t Brown a one year deal? i don’t recall how many years Beckham has on his deal but if it’s multiple years I doubt Belichick wants or needs him. If you pick up Beckham you ought to have a QB that can utilize him

The Browns aren't trading him. They've made it perfectly clear that if they were to let him go they would want to get the same amount of draft capital that they gave up for him. lol
Who in their right mind would give up a first rounder for Odell, based on how he's been playing the past two years.

as much as i hated to get rid of him it would be like trying to put poop back up your ass (or go back to an ex that you didn't want to break up with ) Plus you have Tate and Shepard making all that money already, how much money would this team be willing to rie up at WR? I can see him ending up in San Francisco... I'm hoping this is just a terrible analogy or a pun about the rumors going around regarding his fetish and not something you've personally tried yourself.
