You can hate the guy and it is understandable, but what he said is 100% correct. BS, anyone that agrees with OJ is shit in my book. Vincent Rapisardi @vincerapisardi · The Giants played arguably the league’s best defense in Week 1. With a rookie LT, a player who started his 1st ever game at center, and a backup starting at RT. The overwhelming criticism of Saquon Barkley is truly lacking any sort of perspective You're great at posting other people's opinions.

You're great at posting other people's opinions. Almost as good as you are at attacking other people's opinions. Well you're safe since you posted this other guy's opinion.

This is funny and all, but you know one thing though that is true... the Giants ARE a bit too...nice? We could use some dudes that play a bit nastier, especially on defense. I do NOT mean play dirty or not be good dudes off the field, i love that judge is bringing some class and respect back, but i wouldnt mind a team thats a bit more intense and intimidating. thats another thing the steelers showed us, you could hear it on their sidelines and see it in their energy and reactions to plays on field, they were just more intense as the game went on.
I want a team that you feel like you wouldnt want to fight us in a battle royale steel cage match. lmao.
take a guy like lorenzo carter for instance, i like the dude, im still rooting for him to shine, and he seems like a really good guy, im glad for all that, but id love to see him a bit more intimidating on the field. we dont have those game stopper guys other teams fear. i dont think we have a single one. Brandon jacobs was a great example of a totally good guy but who was also an intimidator. we need that.
we'll get there.

I really believe he was the best of all time. People forget he ran for 2003 yards in a 14 game season. Played on bad teams pretty much his whole career. Not to glorify a murderer (allegedly) but it's hard to deny his greatness as a RB. Personal life aside I can understand why you would say that. I was pretty young when he played but I do remember watching highlights of him as I got older when I got a bit older and was so impressed by his skill-set. He was the complete package as a runner - speed, power, vision, moves/cutting, and that explosiveness once he found an opening.
Everyone is fulled prepared and expecting Saquon to try and bounce outside. We've seen DB's repeatedly go low to take out his legs to which he's countering by jumping over them.
I think OJ is right in his assessment of the "soft" approach, and that includes Saquon as he's not a runner who likes to stick his nose in there.

This thread is absolutely hilarious. I started laughing the moment I read the thread title. What isn't funny is that the Brown and Goldman families will never see true justice for what Orenthal did to Nicole and Ron. I actually thought it was a fake story. I can't believe anyone would report what a murderer said about Saquan Barkley and the Giants. I actually looked it up because I couldn't believe anyone would post such comments.
But....here we are.
I'm merely looking at this from a football perspective and as far as football is concerned, he was all-time great.

As vile as the guy is, my only concern is with this football team and not with who said what.
And I do see a lack of perspective from anyone who may misconstrue my comments to be solely based on last week's game.

He didn’t have a chance,” Simpson said of Barkley. “Watching that game, I can tell you I, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders. . . none of us could have gained any yards. “The difference between myself, Walter and Barry is that I had Lou Saban and Jim Ringo coaching, Walter had [Mike] Ditka and Barry had Wayne Fontes. Tough guys. Guys that coached the offensive line not to do fancy blocking, but to take that [helmet] and stick that [helmet] on some [expletive].” Simpson then took a few stabs at offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, who he feels over-complicates things and gets far too conservative. “I always thought despite the points that they scored, when they got into big games they underachieved because they didn’t play physical — it was all about the scheme,” Simpson said of Garrett’s Cowboys teams. “And that seems to be what they’re doing with the Giants. “They need to give Saquon a fullback. They need to give a running start at the line and let him break off a fullback’s block or double-team blocks. Stop with this fancy scheme crap and start hitting people.” Simpson added that until the Giants get violent and start attacking, they’re not going to see the results they want. “Giants, you’re soft! Anybody who looks at that [film] can see how soft the linemen are. They’re not driving anyone, they’re just getting in the way,” Simpsons said. giantswire.usatoday.com/2020/09/16/oj-simpsons-new-york-giants-soft-saquon-barkley-deserves-better/?utm_source=smg&utm_medium=fishburne&utm_content=home-heroHate to be siding with OJ but he is exactly right about everything he said. I always thought the hiring of Garrett was a mistake and after watching his play calling in the first game, I now know his hiring was a mistake. The Giants used to have a tough image......that is no longer the case....they are now another “Cleveland Browns”. I agree but he’s not exactly making any revelations. In Dallas, Garrett was the HC and had final say, that’s not the case here so I don’t believe one can extrapolate the Cowboys experience to these Giants. But as far as his comments on the run blocking he wins this week’s Mr Obvious title.

I see Saquon as more of an intelligent runner and not one with total disregard for his body.

I am too tired tonite to dig up the stats, but I've been told his college career was a mix of no gains with "home runs" mixed in for highlight reel material. I have several clients who are rabid Nittany lion fans. They love him on and off the field but say it was a mix of being tackled behind the line and 80 yd TDs as they remember. It's too early to give up on what he can do to help NYG win, but I did think he would be much more of a fireball offensive leader.

Regardless who is calling it, unless this O line does not improve and Garrett does not get the offense rolling, they have not improved the Giants offensive woes. Go Big Blue

OJ is a demented fool... the Oline's issue is not they there are playing soft. Thats is a dumb ass statement. They are not playing like a unit yet and that the problem. None of what we saw was guys playing soft or lacking effort. It was guys just messing up.

Lol, you know we've reached an all time low when we are being criticized by a murderer (allegedly)...who unfortunately if I am being honest, for my money was the best RB ever... He was an amazing RB. Yes he was & 100% correct on his assessment of the Giant OL. What he did off the field has zero to do with what he accomplished on it. Same Goes for Tiki. Too many "holier than thou's" out here I see.

I don't think anyone that would be interested in OJ's opinion about anything but since it was posted I do think it's fair to comment on it.
