I've said since training camp I dont expect this team to win more than 2, if any games until November. Not because Im glass half empty but because I try and be more realistic after years of always thinking this was the year. We are 0-2 as expected and it still is disappointing to see. People are sick and tired of losing. And I still cant blame anyone for being upset. I don't fault ANYONE for being upset. Losing sucks and we all want to get better sooner rather than later. But I DO have a problem with threads like these. I'm just pointing out that if you preached all offseason that the team had no chance of winning games and deserves a pass, don't cry after 0-2 and go after the ones who actually do have patience. Pretty soon the same ones who said Judge deserves at least 3 years will be calling for his job. 0-2 separates the men from the women.

personally, 0-2 doesnt bother me (well it does but i mean in context of what the giants are right now), i had no dreams of playoffs or anything. as far as im concerned this is a new year one for as long as everyones been waiting, we have to wait some more, the shurmur era had us going backwards judge actually as a clue. so once again....we're 2-3 years away...still. but i dont pin that on the new staff or judge. mara and perhaps gettleman for "rebuilding while trying to win" and dragging the eli retirement out for a couple years at least.
I DO really want do get at least some victories though for the morale of this team, i really hope we sneak in a win soon here just because I really like Judge and Id love to see some positive feedback to his efforts.

IDK, maybe I just don't take all this seriously enough to be this vested in it. I just look to enjoy my time watching the game. I'd prefer they win, but I have enjoyed watching both games this season. In the grand scheme of life, it matters very little. But this IS a fan board and it's ok to take it seriously here. Oh, on here I do. For some it genuinely effects them and I am rather sad for them that it does. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just that something so out of their control can put a damper on their day. I'm the type that cheers and curses at the game every week, but when its over, win or lose, I'm past it and on to other things.

Forget all that....The #1 thing fans of bad teams say is........ "Be patient. These things take time". That is true but the #1 reason we have been so bad for the past 5+ years is that our personnel sucked without question.. Closely behind is our choices on coaching staffs. Oddd choices at the HC slot followed by assistants who didn't seem up to the job of teaching technique. Now that I think about it, I can't remember any enormously talented roster in any sport that was one coaching staff change away from a conference championship.

I think there is an episode of World's Dumbest that had Osi surprise a fan and showed up after a fan was going nuts over a loss. The fan was upset and almost crying. Osi ended up comforting the guy and indirectly showed him that he was taking it harder than the players. I agree with you on that. If I even make it through a whole bad game I just move on to something else. Even if the game is a good one and my daughter needs me to help her do something, I'll turn it off. Along with Fbomb, in the big scheme of things none of this matters.

"Tank The Season For..." (a player they think can help turn things around) I think right now it is T. Lawrence. How about Tank for a trade down for multiple picks to get closer to finishing the rebuild? One more top OL, a top CB and a WR should do it...at least to make us playoff worthy.

I would hope we aren't tanking at all and we are just green, but if tanking was the case I would bypass Lawrence for all of that.

I make the mistake of looking at social media every so often (less and less as its just a sewer of nastiness more and more with every year) and stupidly made some comment on a facebook page how we still have to wait but its just judges year one, blah blah, whatever, and a guy responded absolutely ripping into judge and how hes the worst and he's "TRASH" - ugh, anything people just dont like themselves is 'trash' - i couldnt help it, i defended judge, then logged the hell out lol.
sigh, yes, i cant deny a lot of aspects about the giants have been the aformentioned trash, but ill defend judge, the dude thats dealing with no preseason, a team half of kids, and is working his tail off to try and instill some pride back into this meandering organization. but i understand until he wins this is how many will view him.
such long dark days as giants fans, man never woulda thought itd get this bad right after sb46, and stay that way for so long.

"Tank The Season For..." (a player they think can help turn things around) I think right now it is T. Lawrence. I started the season out with more faith in DJ than I have now. Realistically, if they are in the position to get T. Lawrence, they will probably get him. There is no way the Giants will or should keep DJ if he averages 2 turnovers a game for the rest of the year. He will be finished.....

And still, not one of you participating in this thread can give ANY legitimate argument as to why this team should be better than they are right now. When you continue to start over every couple of seasons, this is what happens. "I'm sick of being told things take time" is not a rational argument. When you consider all the turnover and new faces we installed just this off season, it's just not realistic to expect more than this. In fact, most everyone knew well before this season started that it was going to be another losing season and the focus was going to have to be on getting better at the fundamentals. Now that focus is being ridiculed by a lot of those same people as "celebrating moral victories and participation trophies". We are just 2 games into the season and the rats are already jumping ship and calling out those who have been practicing what they preach. What's more is, this thread is nothing more than calling out other posters for not having the same opinions as others. Which, I'M TOLD, is frowned upon by the people who run and monitor this board. Some of those "professionals" are not only allowing it to go on, they are actively participating. We ALL want this team to win. But, with all the outlying circumstances this team has faced this off season, it is not reasonable to think they should be better already. And before you make the predictable statement that "All the teams had deal with the Covid rules", not all of them are breaking in a rookie HC and installing a new system for their 2nd year starting QB. And I would like someone to answer this question: What is the overall average record for rookie head coaches in their first season that were NOT hamstringed by Covid? We've started over AGAIN. It's unrealistic to believe we should be better by now. Nice post.

We can be optimistic with the pieces we have for sure, we can speculate this team is on the right track and I do believe that, but until then the only true inference is losing. That has been the one truth. The rest is anybodys guess.

That has been the one truth. The rest is anybodys guess. Just FYI it’s not a coincidence. When in a 4 year span your team provides you a takedown of the 18-0 Pats and another SB win fresh off a 9-7 season you are due for a turn of misfortune. Everyone can tell me this is untrue, but I will call BS. I’m not a Buddhist so I won’t claim Karma, but you can call it whatever you want. I know nobody wants to hear this, but someone has to shed light on our current circumstances. I also don’t know if we are about to relive the 20 year span this organization had thru the 60’s and 70’s either. Because I can tell you there is an owner and everyone beneath him working their damn hardest to return this team to respectability. At some point it will turn, but who knows when. I mean hell, look at the Browns and Lions. I am going to keep reminding myself to maintain sanity in the meantime. I’m a Giants, Mets, Knicks and Rangers fan. I’d freaking hate sports right now if I didn’t love them so much.
