Let's just say this. I turned it off at the start of the 4th qtr.
Everybody gets a F from the HC on down. We're supposed to be getting better, not regressing. We wasted a prefect opportunity to keep up with the division. A shitty division. Now we are in the basement of that shitty division. I don't expect to win a lot of games this year, but I expected better than what I saw yesterday.
Daniel Jones is a turnover machine and he will remain that way in my eyes until he fixes it. IF he fixes it.
I was going to give some props to the defensive secondary but, in the end, they caved just like all the rest.
Grade: FU

It was every bit as bad as the two of you describe. Four plays and one non-play stand out to me, in no particular order.
1. The gadget play that resulted in a fumble. Garrett needs to know that this personnel is not ready for a gadget play. It was a poor toss by DJ but a catchable ball. They share responsibility for the turnover. 2. The penalty on 3rd and 22. That much contact results in a flag about 5% of the time. (just a statement of fact) so it is very frustrating. That said, our DB shouldn't have handed the zebra an opportunity to make that call in the first place. That is not the play where you get aggressive. 3. The penalty on the 2nd half opening drive where Slayton nullified a first down run by DJ with team moving nicely. Again, lack of discipline by Slayton. 4. That first screen pass where the RB went for a TD virtually untouched with 4 blockers leading the way. The replay showed 4 of our defenders blowing past the OL leaving no one home to disrupt that play in any manner. 5. The non-play, Judge in his post game press conference alluded to a "good week of practice." My head nearly exploded. He needs to understand after a game like that, how we performed in practice is TOTALLY meaningless to the fans. It may be important in the cosmic scheme of things but we don't five a rats ass about it. All we care about is how poorly they performed on game day.
It will be very interesting to watch Judge perform this week.in the aftermath of his first disastrous loss.

SOMEBODY BETTER BE DOING SOME LAPS THIS WEEK Exactly, this is not the week to put salve in their wounds. It is the week to pour acid on them.....metaphorically speaking of course.

While we weren’t very good under Shurmur, we never looked as bad as the Giants looked yesterday. It’s clear to me that Judge and the other so-called “coaches” are completely over their head. You can see the panic in Judge’s eyes after just three weeks.

I mean it’s the nature of taking QBs in the first round. Jones might fix himself but 20 looks an awful lot like 19. If we happen to end up with the 1st pick you take Lawrence without blinking. You give Jones away for a sacked lunch. It is what it is. Hopefully whatever GM comes in grasps that basic concept.

It was said on the fan during Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts' show . It was the worst showing of a Giants team in a Decade . There were a lot of games to choose from.

That said, our DB shouldn't have handed the zebra an opportunity to make that call in the first place. That is not the play where you get aggressive. To me, that play was the play that sealed it. After this happened, I had a huge feeling the Giants were going to lose. Tied 6-6, 4 minutes left to go in the 2nd Qtr, you push them the back to their 44 yd line and you get a stop when they looked like they were going to answer back. Momentum swings your way, you get the ball and possibly answer back with another score to go up by at least 3 at the half in what was looking like a game that was going to be a close low scoring affair. Added bonus, you're getting the ball to start the 3rd. Instead, penalty extends the drive, they score a TD, D. Jones throws an INT on the next possession, they score a FG. Score going into the half is now 16-6. Momentum is significantly in the 49ers corner and those back up players are now playing with extreme confidence. Meanwhile the Giants are down, no momentum and they're losing to back ups. Game over.

Imagine that post game locker room talk by Judge, I'd of kept it so simple "We Sucked"
Nothing else, then have a nasty week of practice in preparation for this week's game
How the Giants respond in this game as a team will tell us where their head is at.

Yes, our team does not need its spirits lifted right now. Honestly, if he did that, at this moment, he would lose the respect of the best players/leaders on this team. I have been on teams like this and I knew that we needed the HC to kick our asses silly. He can bring them up next Saturday night or Sunday morning. Right now he needs to rain down hell on them.

The team should be embarassed right now and should have a very tough week of practice focused, physical and all business The leadership (Coaches) need to lay out a plan that makes measured improvement blocking, rushing the passer and coverage for starters it was missing this past week in my opinion They are Pros and each player is accountable to one another as a team that's where their motivation should come from. By nasty, I mean they come out this game and play an all out tough game. Let the other team know realize how tough and physical the Giants played them for the entire 60 minutes of football. I don't know else you do right now with this team except have a tough and a great week of practice.

It didnt help that they did nothing with their opening drive after the half, but in my mind, that was when I knew they were losing the game again.

I like your grading for this week. I have watched almost all the games since 2005 except sunday/monday night games as they start 3.30am in my country. So the 1pm is perfect for me as it is 8pm here. This week the game was just so painful and I felt I had enough and turned it off. I watched the Seahawks vs cowboys game and remembered what football looks like when both teams make plays...

Not this year I guess also we all may have what "getting their act together" actually means. For me its DJ not turning the ball over every game, the offense and defense to get an identity, to be in every game and too pull out 6 or 7 wins. Tall order.

That woukd put them in the middle of the draft I said 6 or 7 because this team needs wins bad. Not just for the sake of winning but for actually getting better. If they get those wins it means they are progressing. Developing Jones and Judge maturing into a a quality HC means way more than draft position at this time.
