Series history:
These two teams have met 176 times. The Giants have won 103 games to Washington's 69, with 4 games ending in a tie. The teams met twice in the post season, with the Giants evening the (post-season) series with a win in the 19987 NFC Championship game.

I live in Redskins territory, see every Redskins game on TV, rarely get to see the New York Football Team. Was able to watch the New York Football Team for the first time last week against the Dallas Football Team -- don't really know what to make of that game. New York Football Team could have, should have, would have won that game if Dak hadn't gotten hurt.
Redskins are in a situation somewhat analogous to Dallas this week in that they will have seriously-injured but apparently fully-recovered Alex Smith, candidate for comeback player of the year (maybe of the century), at the helm, making him, and therefore them, sentimental favorites among the dozen or so Redskins fans who will show up in MetLife this Sunday.
When Alex took over last Sunday, he appeared to me to be fully recovered, and seemed to be in good command of the offense. I don't think the New York Football Team will be able to generate much pressure against him, since he appears to be nearly as mobile as ever. However, he's a couple of years older than he was when he got hurt, and he may have lost a half-step or so in scrambling speed, and maybe a fraction of a second in release time. He seemed to be processing things more deliberately and perhaps very slightly slower than before his injury. He was running aggressively, and very effectively.
Should be a close game, 10-10 at the half, 20-20 at the end of regulation. Count on the New York Football Team to figure out a way to eke out a loss in overtime, probably to a 72-yard game-winning FG as clock expires, after an offside penalty that changes an unmakeable 77-yard attempt to a makeable 72-yarder.
Redskins win, 23-20; New York Football Team remains in the hunt for #1 draft pick.
Go, New York Football Team.

Will add the Giants are 3 point favorites this game....thus suggesting we should win this game, and be preparing to face Trevor Lawrence the next 15 years

Two teams with each with a QB from the same draft class, one has moved on while the other has to start showing progression starting with 0 turnovers this game
D bounces back to play a solid game and the OL finds DJ just enough time to make some plays while the run game gives some balance
Giants play with confidence and Gano kicks the game winning FG

Alex Smith is a full dink and dunker at this point. Apply pressure and keep the backs in check on the screens. Bradberry sticks to McLauren.
As for our offense, pray. Here comes what should have been ours in Chase Young.
Hopefully Thomas steps up.
If not 0-16 is a legit possibility.

We can finally put it to bed I guess It's an early Trevor Lawrence playoff tank game....with 9 other 1 win teams to sit with the 4 winless. Week 6 could suddenly determine either the best QB prospect since Luck, or another run stuffing DT from the SEC Huge game...networks should be all over this battle of titanic titans

Must win game for what it's worth. Washington is a weaker opponent, this is a game we're supposed to win. Joe Judge has gotten a pass so for with good reason, but the free ride ends tomorrow. Media, fans and everybody will start questioning the coaching staff if we don't win and it will be completely fair.

Several older Giants fans that I know disliked Washington more than any other team in the 1980's. They were a problem back then. Joe Gibbs was a stellar head coach.

I don’t recall the exact game but they ran a surprise onside kick on us which was successful and I remember thinking that was just indicative that they could not beat us straight up. They had to resort to trickery to have a chance. We still beat them.

If they win the game its just means they got that monkey off their back for a week. In this case only 4 days. Would be cool to listen to sports news with the Giants winning for a change.
They just need a win. We just need a win.
Its that simple.

Neither team has much offense. I think Washington wins a low-scoring game with turnovers. I would not be surprised if the only points the Giants score come on field goals.

Vegas oddsmakers dropped overnight to Giants being 2.5 point favorites from a start of 3.5 last Monday. Many don’t see Jones being able to do anything with the Washington defensive front seven versus the ever porous Giant offensive line. In my opinion, Daniel Jones will do well to get out of this game uninjured.

Hopefully he abuses our secondary when we lack any pass rush.

Look as the game breakdowns. Many times they double one guy and Thomas is left with two. Its far from just Thomas who needs to step up

I don’t know if I want the Giants to win today. While you watch this game today remember that winning meaningless games against the Skins cost us having Chase Young in Giants blue. Today will showcase the true price of those wins.

Giants win today. We have been in 4 out of our 5 losses against WAY tougher opponents. The only reason I'm still nervous is Haskins isn't playing. Back up QB's are our Kryptonite. Enjoy it fellas.....it may be our only win of the season.
