That is funny, and typical for the new PC, snowflake era I. Which we live to support a malcontent me-first player that thought himself bigger then the NY Giants and the NFL. Sorry for the injury, but it is hard to have any sympathetic feeling for Odell.....he has made multi-millions and done next to nothing for almost 4 years. Good for him, but his gravy train ends in February and his next free agent contract will be a fraction of what he currently makes due to his collapse in production, off field behavior, and injury history. Those are the facts people, like it or not. So, you're saying that our new GM has a shot and getting him back for a song? He could, but Odell is yesterday’s news and gets hurt taking a shower. He’ll end up on a team like the Jets or Washington.

But half this fan base doesn't want a stud... They bitch about Gettleman sucking then want the offense to go back to a time when they were last able to get erect without drugs Pretty sure no one has said that, just don't want a prima donna .It is nice watching teams with great running games in the "new era of the NFL" that can control the clock and give their defense a rest off the field. And what do you think opens up the teams that can run it Teams that have dynamic weapons that frighten teams into a soft box where teams can run it at will Even your run heavy teams like San Francisco and Baltimore added a lot of dynamic weapons outside to do this...and the Titans have opened it up bigtime .. Modern NFL offense...threaten every inch of field and force opponents to defend every inch of field, thinning out numbers ..... Its what the Chiefs did in the playoffs....and teams do now..its wht teams are averaging 450 yards total offense a game and scoring is through tbe roof We are hopelessly stuck in 1979 until we get weapons

I said it sucked and hope he recovers. Doesn't change the fact he's a diva that always makes everything about him. I got flagged for calling someone an idiot. Wonder if you will be for calling me an asshole? Never had someone run to the mods for a comment that I made, but okay. You saying "no offense" but going on to say something insulting doesn't make it any better. LOL He's no longer a New York Giant, and this thread wasn't about something dumb he's done so I don't know what him being a diva has to do with tearing an ACL. An just so you know I never called you an a**hole, I said that you made a distasteful comment that wasn't even funny and how most people would perceive your post.

The next Odell is JaMarr Chase. He is going to be a stud. But half this fan base doesn't want a stud... They bitch about Gettleman sucking then want the offense to go back to a time when they were last able to get erect without drugs First and most importantly, I wish the guy a speedy recovery and hope he's able to get back to what he loves doing. Having that taken away from you can be devastating and he's had to deal with it a few times already. Second, I don't necessarily believe that the fan base doesn't want a stud. I think it just comes down to wanting a stud that isn't going to be an issue and doesn't let the success go to their head to the point where it becomes a problem. A lot of these guys are young and they need time to mature. Making a mistake and being immature isn't a problem, but it becomes a problem when they don't learn from those mistakes and fail to essentially "grow up."

Its going to happen That I think is stupid, the whole "we never won with great receivers." because you are right, the team had great receivers when they won those SB's. Plax, Toomer and Smith were a great group. Nicks/Cruz/Manningham were a great group. I will say this though, I don't think you need a superstar WR to win. I would prefer to have a good/great group of receivers vs a superstar. Aside from (49ers)Rice and possibly (Rams)Torry Holt(borderline superstar?), has any team in last few decades won a SB with a superstar receiver?

Aside from (49ers)Rice and possibly (Rams)Torry Holt(borderline superstar?), has any team in last few decades won a SB with a superstar receiver? Thing is that if we don't do anything in FA (and I hate paying pass catchers big money but at the same time because our group is embarrassingly bad other than Slayton but I'm actually saying bring in Gallup as he is probably the equivalent of what Slayton's ceiling is and now we have 2 outside deep threats that force defenses back )Chase if there is almost as dire a need pick as Surtain is(unless they fix this in FA as well) I mean I agree to a point..modern NFL offenses, tbe great ones, overwhelm opposing defenses witb dynamic playmakers with speed and top end route running all over the field (again I use the chiefs..contrary to popular belief Tyreek Hill is not a number one...he flourishes because they have a fleet of recievers all over the field witb top end blow the top off the defense playmakers that run great routes...Hill here and he isn't half as effective though he would help Slayton and Jones ..) Ideally I don't want to have to be forced into Chase ..if we take Gallup there will be a bunch of nice 4.45 types with some hight/top end route running and catch radius in the 2nd round to augment Slayton and a proposed Gallup signing..... That could be enough witb Shepard in a reduced role (limit injuries and just in the slot)to give Jones enough weapons to develop a nice explosive modern offense that would allow Barkley to dominate because defenses can't sit on him no longer But again Watch this offseasn Tbe clique will be screaming nO rEcIeVeRs tIlL dAy tHrEe.aNd OnLy pOsSeSiOn TyPEs.that are still stuck in 1990(yet bitch about Gettleman stick in past...eff those emroes...they got their wish witb this offense this year

And what do you think opens up the teams that can run it Teams that have dynamic weapons that frighten teams into a soft box where teams can run it at will Even your run heavy teams like San Francisco and Baltimore added a lot of dynamic weapons outside to do this...and the Titans have opened it up bigtime . No one is arguing with you here, everyone wants weapons but this team needs alot and you know that. It can also be argued that a good to great run game opens it up for the passing game. If the other team has to bring 8 men into the box to stop your run game your receivers should have a field day! What good is the latest flash toy if the QB is on his ass every play? No one is disagreeing with you some just see different priorities . Tennessee proved me correct that in tbe modern NFL you can't do it the old way anymore when KC beat them at their own game ... Notice they now pass to set up tbe run And very few teams sell out 8 in tbe box anymore..because 90% of teams not named the Jets,Giants and Bears have weapons they have to respect outside. Moat teams can sit in a shallow zone and blitz the running back on every play if they have to There is absolutely no team going into every game with a mindset to establish a running game first before trying to pass it these days

That's all good But if you don't have outside weapons you will not be able to run it sufficiently to control the clock .... 2020 facts

Man, I would absolutely love a Fitzgerald type, those are hard to come by though. You guys are probably going to laugh at me, but while watching the Rams/Bears game, I was paying attention to Cooper Kupp. Someone like that would be good too. Good route runner, plays whistle to whistle, gets involved in the run game with pretty good run blocking ability. Just seemed like an overall decent WR that has a lot of uses and isn't defined to a strict role or stereo type(IE deep threat, just a slot guy, just a move the chains guy)

He is a high end complimentary piece.. Ie he is a better version of Shepard Not a difference maker We need a difference maker or even 2..you get a Kupp type last.

Hasn't he filled that roll? Also, you mention Kupp is a complimentary piece, but he's pretty much been their #1 WR for 3 out of the last 4 seasons. Would've probably been all 4 but he got injured. Complimentary pieces don't usually lead your team in receptions, yardage and touchdowns. Honestly I feel like a trio of Shep, Slayton and someone like Kupp could do some damage, especially with the fact that Shep and a Kupp type would be interchangeable in where they could line up in different formations.

I'd rather get someone like Bateman,Olave,Coxie....someone with prototypical number 1 attributes (4.45 ish speed, decent hight, post catch dynamic ability..if they don't go Chase Get one of those guys opposite Slayton..maybe even sign Gallup as well 3 of the same kind of recievers with that skill set and defenses will be thinned out .. Watch Barkley then put up 3K total yards
