The thing that also bothers me about this doctoring of baseballs crap, and flip flopping by MLB on their stance depending on what way the wind blows, is the fact the hitters are being taught/ trained to hit HRs. Swing big or go home. You want to raise averages? Use the entire field when the defense applies the shift instead of just cranking it into the teeth of the shift. Yankees are perfectly content with a .200 hitter if he hits 30+ HRs. With that, brings a wrath of strikeouts. Thats the bigger issue than pitchers suing a substance IMO. That, and the damn umpires wobbly K-zones. Hitters dont know what a strike is anymore. Ask Judge. He was forced to swing at pitches below his knee caps due to umpires calling it a strike on him for years.

Seeing it first hand now, Aaron Boone totally out managed by his predecessor Girardi.

Rays are going run away with this division. Yankees are no where near as good pitching nor hitting, and the Red Sox do not have the starting pitching.
Yanks need to wake up and fire Cashman already

Yanks hang on after going up 3-2 on a Sanchez 2 run bomb, after Chapman relives Cole after 8, and promptly allows a single and a double to lead off the inning. Then with 1 out, Chap gets a bouncer right back to him and goes to Gary who then hoses down Vlad Jr at third to save the game. Im really wondering if Chap has been using substance too because he has lost it the past week or 2.
This team really is not that good.

Oh, and the DBacks lost their 22nd straight road game to tie an MLB record.
Wow

I'm posting this in here because Moorehead lurks Red Sox catcher leads the team in SBs?
What does that say about the rest of the team having square wheels on the base paths

Yanks are tied for last in MLB. If our wheels are square........What are your team's?

I don't understand how that is possible.... we have Brett Gardner for crying out loud.

You can't steal first base.

Why does this team continue to trade within the division?
Choi was also once a Yankee.

Hopefully another more important win tonight in Nassau County.

I'm a few days behind this thread, but I must say, the Yankees this year are the worst base running team I have ever seen. Comparing against them, is about as low a water mark as I can think of!! And yes, it hurts me to post this!!

wow, a triple play to end the game, don't see that too often. Amazing. For a team that isn't exactly great on defense and the base paths, they sure can turn a triple play. 3rd this year. 2nd walk off triple play.

Some times they play with tremendous skill, do some awesome things in the field. Then it seems sometimes they seem to forget how to play. Not sure I've seen Jekyll and Hyde team like this before. I really would like to see them clean up the base running. That Sanchez fubar after his double was unacceptable, even if he did manage to skirt the tag, and was typical for the team this year.

I have a question for all my Yankee fan friends.
When Brett Gardner retires, and after they retire his number and then build a monument for him.......Do you guys think they will give him a cushy office job to deal with "fan relations"?

I know you are playing, but there is zero chance #11 gets retired. It is now the lowest available Yankee number. I could see the kid Jasson Dominguez getting that number if he wants it in a year or 2.

Is #15 getting retired for Boston? Doubt it. But he was a heck of a player. Very similar players. Same mentality. Small bald white scrappers. Same age. I hated Pedroia but respected his play. I felt like him and Ortiz were the perfect duo to compliment each other on those great Sox teams.

He certainly does have a lot in common with Elisha Nelson Manning. He has a cult-like following, his fans apologize for him constantly while wishing that his potential replacements fail, they overreact to anything good that he does when he is clearly washed up, and he has overstayed his welcome by several years.

MVP lol. He wasn't even the MVP of the Red Sox that year. Overall numbers are pretty close. Pedroia a little ahead most stats. Quite a bit in average. Gardy had many more steals. Dusty had a slightly better career. Not overwhelming though. Pedroia started his career much better and Gardner finished his career much better. Similar players.

You're hate for the Red Sox is showing. Pedroia was essentially a career .300 hitter and your guy is a career .250 hitter. Pedroia's problem is that his career was cut short by a dirty play by Manny Machado.
4 time all star, 4 time gold glove, league MVP and Rookie of the year. Did Gardy ever even go to an all star game?
Gardner was barely an everyday player for God's sake. Nice little role player. Pedroia was the best 2nd baseman in Red Sox history.
You are comparing a perennial league star to a nobody player they've spent years trying to replace. In other words....You're friggin nuts on this one.

Meh. Similar players. Ill give you average. Pedrioa was a much better contact hitter. .299 career BA vs Gardys .257 which really got pulled down his last couple of seasons. He had a really nice run. Pedrioa had about 500 more ABs, only 9 more HRs, half the stolen bases (138 to 271), OPS+ is close 100 to 113, WAR 43.2 vs 51.9. As I said, Pedrioa was a ltitle bit better. Youk should have won the Red Sox MVP the year that Pedroia won the MVP, Big Roidtiz next to his side allowed him to see a much better pitch selection as well most of his career. Todays Red Sox, I think Devers and Boagartz are better offensive and defensive players than lil Pedey ever was.

Did you guys see what happened with Binder Joe and Max Scherzer last night? They checked Max 3 times for illegal substances and Max did an epic troll job on him. Joe ended up getting ejected a little while after and Max trolled him again. It was hilarious.
