Lol, Jake has to drive his own runs in again. His 2 run single drives Snell out of the game in the 5th. MVP? So far I can't disagree. On top of it he is pitching lights out.

A pitcher with a 2.78 era and a.262 batting average, and next year his hitting probably won't matter. He is an incredible athlete. MVP, I don't see it, but it's a long season.

Degrom left with an injury tonight.
6IP 1 hit 0 BBs 0 ERs 10Ks.
Dominating.
I'd vote him MVP for sure.

Here is the proof of the record. "deGrom collected his 100th strikeout of the season Friday against the San Diego Padres. He did it in just 61 2/3 innings. Not only is that a record, but according to ESPN Stats & Info, that’s the fewest innings any starter has required to reach the 100-strikeout mark since the mound was moved to its current distance in 1893."larrybrownsports.com/baseball/jacob-degrom-new-strikeout-record/580157

The team and Jake spoke very confidently about the elbow after the game, you hope that’s the case. He’s been so amazing that the excellent work of Walker and Stroman has been barely a side note. Well not if you listen to the Mets broadcasts, but outside of that. Walker has been fantastic. Additionally, and I hate to jinx it, but Diaz is fully back. His stuff is filthy right now. Even the one hit he allowed last night was poor contact and just decent fortune.

Nice. The Padres have a good team. Wish the Yanks could have won in Philly in extras, but anyway.

F'in familia.
1st and second no outs 2 innings in a row. Got out of the first. Walks home the tying run in the second.
Edit:. Then Barnes gives up a grand slam...😠

Don Newcomb 26-2, Bob Gibson with that 1.something era, Guidry 25-2, Denny McLain winning 30. His season so far is in this category. Legendary !

How about don’t leave him in for 40 pitches? Familia didn’t fail, he got tired. He’s been good all year. That’s a Rojas fail.

A reliever walking the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches is not good. 2 consecutive innings with 2 on and no outs isn't good. And considering Barnes gave up back to back homers on his first 2 batters, maybe he should have left familia in? Couldn't have been much worse...

Good W and nice to see Peterson rebound. Anyone else trying to figure out why Trevor May sucks? It's funny, because they were interviewing him from the bullpen earlier in the game. He was talking about his approach. Meh... He and Barnes have both given up back to back homers in their last outings. Edit: Barnes was sent back to the minors and replaced by Sean Reid-Foley.

Reid foley was stellar too, and he has a sweet stache. And a much lower era. I will gladly accept that Rojas has a horseshoe rammed up his rear right now. Because he learned nothing the other day he keeps Lugo on for 2 innings. Fortunately Marisnick thought he was smarter than the 3rd base coach.

It's amazing. I don't disagree with navy about Rojas, but he's got these backups playing like stars for him.

With so many on the DL and tbe way the team was in a batting slump to start this is really good the hitters are showing major signs of breaking out as well And having these backups show that they can play is big as well. If they get anything out od Thor at the end of this season while the rest or tbe staff pitches the way they have they will be a major force in Oct

Both seem ok so far. 🙏
