This would require the the Knicks to have good luck. Therefore I dismiss it. Immediately Toppin will be an offensive force on the league. The question will be if Thibs can get him to play defense. As far as the Knicks they are projected to be the league’s worst team. On one hand you can’t set very high hopes, but on the other hand it wouldn’t be hard for them to be a pleasant surprise. I think if they can win 30 games and be somewhere near a playoff spot with a month to go, that will be a major success. Because we all know if they finish with an abysmal record they aren’t going to win the lottery anyway. (I’m going to keep preaching this as it worked wonders with the Rangers lottery fortunes). To me, and without keeping up with them nearly as much as I do the Giants, I feel the Knicks are in a similar spot as the Giants. New regime (wish Dolan was gone), no longer in cap hell, plenty of draft capital going forward, and a couple young players to build around. Nobody pulls for losing, but next season would be the ideal season to have two lottery picks. The 2021 draft is stacked with talent and the FA class is going to be filled with bonfide players. My hope, similar to the Giants this year, is we see some heart and some improvement as the year goes on. Have fans excited about the potential of this team going into 2021-2022, and make some smart moves next off-season to help us expedite the next step forward.

Well, Lebron and Anthony Davis are maxed out in LA for the next 2 years minimal. When the 3rd wheel joins them, there will be zero interest in me watching the NBA for the next couple of years again. Oh well.

Oh well. I think the NBA needs to do something to stop this, but ratings seem to prove me wrong. As much as I'd love the Knicks to be relevant, this is one of many reasons why I have a hard time being a real fan of the NBA.

As little as many of us like it, once the players are free agents, they certainly have the right to join forces like this (granted the Lakers traded for AD last season, but you know what I mean...)

Oh well. The NBA is unwatchable. Once LeBron James came onto the seen and he was bigger than the sport. It all went to hell. Instead of playing against the best, they formed an alliance. They created the super friends. So, unless you are part of their inner circle, you don’t have a snowball chance in hell of signing these players. It also doesn’t help that the players run the league. The only American sport where the athletes call the shots. If a max player is disgruntled, that head coach even the GM are fired. The owners cave into these players, they made a deal with the devil. As a Knicks fan, hard to say that out loud. They have to build from the ground up. They will never get that great super max player. They have to settle for middle tier players and pay them max money. We have one of the worst teams and unfortunately we can never grab the #1 pick. And I truly believe, until Dolan drops dead. We will always be cursed as one of the worst teams in the sport. He is the Antichrist of owners. And to you hockey fans, the Rangers do well because he doesn’t get involved in the team. For some reason he thinks he knows the sport of basketball and how to run it.

He did play well, but keep in mind that the Cav's entire starting roster was sitting out. We were essentially playing a D league team. Knicks did look good destroying them though. I'm hopeful that they might improve to a level of mediocrity this year, instead of the outright trash they've been rolling out lately.

Maybe it's COVID, but I'm excited to watch some Knicks basketball I'm sure that feeling will change 5 minutes after tip off.

If they can cut down the turnovers a bit, they could be relatively competitive.

You can get in while playing sub .500 ball.

They haven't played D like this since Jeff VG was coaching them. They are actually playing decent team basketball. It's been a long time since I've had any hope for this team.

Tibs has them playing really well. Been a long time since a Knicks team actually looked good. Will be a fun season if they can keep it at this level.

Man I wish more Knicks games were on TV in NC. I've been tracking their scores online, and watching highlights after.
I hear Quivers is a thing now. Apparently Quickley and Rivers are both looking real good, which is great news.

I guess its fair to say it might be time to start watching the Knicks again? Even if they arent a "great" team, they appear to be headed in the right direction without a superstar on the roster. This is great news as it will open doors for the future of possibly landing a star. I guess Tom Thibodeau has the "it" in him? Still early but so far it looks promising.
I still find it hard to watch the NBA though overall, but this might spark my interest a little more.
