Man I wish more Knicks games were on TV in NC. I've been tracking their scores online, and watching highlights after. I hear Quivers is a thing now. Apparently Quickley and Rivers are both looking real good, which is great news. Since I cut the cord and refuse to drop hundreds on the NBA pass, I run into the same issue. But, I do get my Knicks fix by watching the full game highlights posted on the NBA Youtube channel. They are called highlights, but it shows almost every field goal and key defensive plays in the game. You dont get to see a lot of the missed shots and free throws, but you do get a good sense of the game in general.

Maybe if the continue to play well they'll make it on TV more. Can't blame the networks for not wanting to put them on often as bad as they've been the last 20 years.

3 wins in a row for the Knicks.
At least we know they don't appear to be the worst team in the NBA anymore.

Man, I know we're up and down right now, with more downs than ups in terms of wins, but I really like the young core of this team. nypost.com/2021/01/31/knicks-kristaps-porzingis-trade-looking-less-disastrous-two-years-later/Didn't realize, but the Porzingis trade gives us two additional first round picks in the next three years. As much as I liked Porzingis on the court, this trade has ended up being a blessing. We may very well end up with two lottery picks next year. If Quickley, Randle, and Barrett continue to grow, and if we play our cards right over the next few drafts, we may have ourselves a contender in a couple years. Speaking of those three, here's another article I read this morning: nypost.com/2021/01/31/the-knicks-may-soon-have-their-own-big-3/. For the first time since I was a kid, I'm actually excited about the Knicks future.

If they had some consistent 3 pt shooting, they would be a solid playoff team. Played the Clippers tough yesterday, and LA was playing in top form. I know no one wants to hear about moral victories, but there is a different air around this team that we haven't seen in many years.

I'll take anything I can after a couple decades of complete misery with no end in sight. We look good-ish, and that makes me happy.

I keep hearing all about Rose being traded to the Knicks. This seems like a head scratcher to me. Would anyone be a fan of this pick? Would love to hear why.
If we trade him, hopefully it's for players like DSJ and Frank, and hopefully Rose has 0 impact on Quickley's playing time.

Yea, apparently it happened. I still don't like giving up a pick, but it's a 2nd rounder. Initially I figured we'd give out a 1st, so I'm not too upset with what we gave up. If this impacts Quickley and his playing time in the least, I'll hate this move. Quickley is one of the few bright spots we've had in quite some time. We need to groom him.

I'm surprised that there isn't a lot or talk about the Knicks. Julius Randle is heading to the all star game and they are playing pretty good basketball. It is also good to see the mess that is the Boston Celtics. I am still wondering how Danny Ainge is such a genius. All of those acquired draft picks and nothing to show for it.

I haven't been watching them much the last 8 - 10 years, but started to again this season. They have a ways to go still, but are heading in the right direction, and are night and day from the last decade or so of futility.

Ill be honest, the difference in not being a great team for the Knicks right now was the bad luck of a ping pong ball.
Zion Williamson instead of RJ Barrett.
This team would be one of the better teams in the East.

It's tough never being able to watch the Knicks. I think there's been one game on national TV so far this season.
I was apparently wrong about not wanting Rose. He seems to be a great addition from what I can tell reading up and watching highlights. I'm still not a fan of the idea of trading key pieces of high draft picks for a big name player. I don't think we're one player away at this point. Keep the nucleus intact, leverage the upcoming lottery picks, and snag some FA's. Now that we're not a disaster, folks will want to play in the Garden.

I think you have to go back to the 12/13 season for the last time the Knicks were at 500 this late into a season. And we complain about the Giant, lol.

There are two words that you have not heard once this entire NBA season: James Dolan. As long as he stays out of sight and mind, the path to the Knicks becoming relevant again will be a short one.

Anyone got a pulse on who they should draft on Wednesday? I grew up a Knick fan, but living in NC it's been tough keeping up with them with them never on TV and with them being so bad for so long. Similar to the Giants, though, I feel like they're in a decent situation to grow with a group of young talent. Nobody over the top special, but a couple kids who can be part of a winning team. We also have a good chunk of change to work with, along with 3 picks in this years draft, and a FO that seems to have everyone's respect. For about a 10+ year stretch, I felt the Knicks never had any picks to work with and they were always in cap hell. They were the laughing stock of the league, and arguable of all major sports. If nothing else, this is a nice change of pace. Personally, I do not want us to go after any big name FA. I didn't realize teams could do this, but I'd rather us take on a few bad contracts for certain players and acquire additional draft picks in years to come. Keep building through the draft this year, stack more picks for years to come, and save the cap space for next off-season and go after Giannis or someone similar. Anyone with more insight/NBA knowledge have any thoughts to what we should do, or who we should draft? What a season! Huge congrats to the NY Knicks for making this a fun season and for giving us something to look forward to in the future. This is the most excited I've been for NBA basketball and NY sports in as long as I can remember. As mentioned in November, I love where the Knicks and Giants are as franchises. Both teams seem to have found their next HC and the players already seem to have bought in to the new cultures. Both teams have a nice blend of youth and experience. Both teams have future draft capital. Neither team has outlandish contracts to workaround long term. We're no longer looking at the distant light at the end of the tunnel. In my opinion, we've made it through the tunnel and have taken our first steps into the sunshine. For the first time in a long time it's good to be a NY sports fan.

They do actually look much better, and that's missing some key players. Hopefully the Rooks come back soon. If they can cut down the turnovers a bit, they could be relatively competitive. It would just be nice for them to make the playoffs. To me, its too easy to make the playoffs in the NBA. You can get in while playing sub .500 ball. I see this as a big time successful season for the Knicks. They have to keep the momentum going though. Build the roster and get another superstar. Randle is off the handle this season. He seriously should be in MVP talks but he wont be. Without him the Knicks are way out of the postseason.

I still don't want us to just throw money around for the sake of doing so, and I still don't want us trading away draft capital, but I think we're building something FA's will want to play for. I'm not even sure who I would want, or who we necessarily need, but I like the pieces we have in place.
