10 things to watch in Giants vs. Browns
By Dan SalomoneSERIES HISTORYThe Giants won their last two and six of their last seven games against the Browns dating back to 1991. The teams last met on Nov. 27, 2016, when three Eli Manning touchdown passes keyed a 27-13 victory. The Giants and Browns most recently met in New Jersey on Oct. 7, 2012, when the home team overcame an early 14-0 deficit and rallied to win, 41-27. Manning threw three touchdown passes, all to Victor Cruz. From 1950-69, the Giants and Browns had one of the NFL's greatest rivalries, playing each other twice each season (except for 1968). Since the Browns moved to the AFC in the 1970 merger, they have played each other only 10 times (the Giants own a 6-4 advantage). LAST TIME OUTThe Giants' four-game winning streak came to an end with a 26-7 loss at home to the Arizona Cardinals, dropping them to 5-8 on the season. The Browns (9-4) lost to the Baltimore Ravens 47-42 on Monday night after Justin Tucker kicked the go-ahead field goal with two seconds remaining in the game. DANIEL JONES & JAMES BRADBERRY OUTCornerback James Bradberry's Pro Bowl campaign has been put on pause after the Giants placed him on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Bradberry was placed on the list because he was deemed to be a high-risk close contact of an individual who has tested positive. The contact did not occur at the Giants facility and the individual is not a member of the organization. Bradberry will remain isolated from the team and continue to participate in meetings remotely. Given the timing of the close contact, Bradberry will miss Sunday night's game against Cleveland. If he continues to test negatively and has no symptoms, he would come off the reserve list on Monday. GETTING BACK ON TRACKThe Giants rushed for 78 yards in their loss to Arizona. During their four-game winning streak, they averaged 162.3 rushing yards per game. STOPPING THE RUNThe Giants have made it clear that stopping the run is the top priority against the Browns, who average the third-most rushing yards per game in the NFL (156.2). Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt each have more than 750 yards on the ground, with the former racking up 11 rushing touchdowns so far. FROM ONE HEISMAN TO ANOTHERA week after facing Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, the Giants face another Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick out of Oklahoma in Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has a career-high 96.6 passer rating through 13 starts with 23 touchdown passes to just eight interceptions. PEP FACES FORMER TEAMSunday night will also be the first time safety and special teams co-captain Jabrill Peppers faces his former team. The Cleveland Browns drafted the do-it-all Michigan product with the 25th overall pick in 2017. He has already doubled his previous career-high of passes defensed. He also has a personal-best eight tackles for loss.
GIANTS V BROWNS THROWBACK:
Giff and (most likely) Rosie Brown on the ground.

Here's my peculiar Giants/Browns memory. Rookie Ron Johnson running well against us and then us trading for him in the off season.

The Browns will come in and have an easy time of it. 31-16
Judge's "ways" take another hit. The Giants D is legit but they are getting tired and fed up.
Hell.....even if the Giants win that means the two games they beat winning teams McCoy was the QB. Bad for Jones' head and his game.
The kid is already a mess and win would actually make it worse.

even though deep down inside, I don't expect us to win this one, I simply can't press the other teams radial button. It just feels wrong, what can I say.

I like Judge and I think he will be a very good head coach but any coach's "ways" take hits every time they lose. The AZ game his ways took hits. His decisions to start Jones, the game plan, the way they lost etc. Its not his fault about Covid of course but and this team has played hard mostly but the media will eat this team up tomorrow whether they win or lose. Just my thoughts. Doesnt mean much but its what I think.

Every coach loses games every season, even the coach who ultimately wins the SB every year. I do, though, think that the type of loss can constitute a “hit” on the coach’s ways - like games where the effort isn’t there or where they are clearly outcoached, etc. I’m probably splitting hairs here ....

Unfortunately at this point the Giants have too many obstacles to overcome for this game.
Browns 34 Giants 9

I dont want to get my hopes up, so I wont...
31-10 Browns
I woudl have said less then 31 had Bradberry been able to lock up Landry. And I would have went higher than 10 if we had a healthy DJ.
As I said before we lost our chance to take this division in Sept -October.
That sad thing is, this is probably the easiest chance we will ever have to take a divisional crown, and we fumbled it.
Garrett and their Dline will more than likely have their ways with our OL. Controlling the trenches. Our only chance to keep this close is if the Dline kills it all game and doesn't wear down. They need pressure and sacks. They need turnovers. They need to hold the Browns to less than 17.
The Browns are going to do what Arizona did, squeeze the box and make McCoy throw all day. Not a great thing.
With the Washkins playing Seattle earlier in the day, we will know of this is a "must win" or not.
Either way our tiem is running thin.
Hopefully not another primetime meltdown

The Cards did not beat us last week. Our coaching staff did.
Can we win this game absolutely our Defense is going to keep us in the game as long as our offence can sustain drives . If they can't the D will break down at some point as they did last week.
Our Offense needs to find a way to stay on the field, eat the clock and result in points. We need to keep Chubb and Hunt on the sidelines . They will destroy our front if allowed to do so.
Our Special teams needs to win the field position battle . We can not be starting inside the 20 and the opposition starting outside the 40 . That is a recipe for failure. If we cannot run it out of the end zone without getting past the 25. Take a freeking knee on kickoffs. Cough cough Lewis. We do not have Ballantine to run down and tackle the returner anymore. Someone needs to step up and put the punt/kick returner on the ground without 20 yard returns.
If we can not do these 2 things . We will get beat badly.
PS: I never vote for the Giant to lose.

I usually go with my gut feeling. My gut feeling was we would beat Seattle, and lose to the Cardinals. My gut is telling me we are going to lose this game. I know, way to go out on a limb..
27-13 Browns
Oh I forgot, I get to watch the game with 3 Browns fans. The only friggin Browns fans in Syracuse and they have to be with me!

Giants can’t score points or pass the football. Somehow I think the Giants win.

Tough spot for the Giants, missing Bradberry and Jones, but this is the NFL and anything can happen from week to week. Jax almost knocked off the Browns a couple of weeks ago.
I think we keep it close, but the Browns hold on for the win

Joe is coming to a gunfight with a butter knife with this team, and has for most of the season. The more it becomes clear we have inferior talent the most empowered Joe Judge will become in this organization.
I don't see any losses this year being an indictment of Joe Judge. I think ownership flat loves the guy.

well you see it in the sports news...Judge tough coach has players running laps blah blah blah.. I dig Judge for sure but if the team goes ends this season with a whimper then yeah "his way" will be a sticking point. He is already getting beat up a little about playing Jones last week. I agree the ownership loves the guy and team has inferior talent but he will take his lumps in the media if the Giants play like shit for the remaining three games. Thats all I am getting at

I like Joe Judge I like his style Al I am saying is the media will bust his ass big time that his style means little if they keep losing or end the season with the team playing poorly and with a lack of effort. Thats all. Of course the media's opinion means little to Judge I am sure

There is a problem with a 5 win team and every decision made in some way created that failure. The game / season changing bad ones have to be identified so they are not repeated. IMO: a successful HC or any coach has to be flexible in his views or the system becomes stagnate. McAdoo had that problem So did Bettcher as a DC.

The NY media was the original "fake news " click bait style even before the internet.. Do not miss Tbe best thing that ever happened to me sports wise was moving from NY and having to deal with fat boy and fruit loops in tbe afternoon (not surprising Rousso actually got good when he got his own channel on Sirius...his first day and he visited Howard Stern was hysterical)

Honestly we have to unfortunately be very one dimensional tonight to have a chance Heavy sets and heavy run even when the Browns are not going to respect our passing game at all....a return to 1995 Rodney Hampton ball...
Maybe a little innovation out of the 3 TE sets and use then in the passing game
I unfortunately see a close game until the 4th

This isn’t the same old Browns. They can run the ball with anyone, Mayfield is playing well, and they got a defensive player of the year candidate in Garrett. No Daniel Jones, no Bradberry, and an offensive line that just came off their worst performance this year. This game screams Browns win big. But, I’m not sure about that. I still think they have the Seattle game in them. It’s just, can they showcase that on the field again?

Horrible break having Bradberry out. Arguable our most important player to take landry out of the game and make browns offense one dimensional. With him in we had a chance. Out, unless something unexpected happens like mayfield going out, we do not.

He is hard to stop.

20-16 Giants. Putting a book mark on it.
Interesting that in this moment in time, we could possibly be in 1st place at the end of the game tonight. We could also be in last place at the end of the game tonight. Pretty crazy this late in the season.
