I was a big Reasons fan and felt he was underrated simply based on us having some fantastic LB'ers. I read today that Gary had 13 INT's during the regular and post seasons which was more than LT and Carl Banks combined.
To honor his 59th birthday here's some clips of 55.

Heard Reasons on The Giants Insider podcast a few weeks ago say that the fake punt against SF was his call at the line.
Talk about balls!

Heard Reasons on The Giants Insider podcast a few weeks ago say that the fake punt against SF was his call at the line. Talk about balls! Reasons must have issues sitting down with those massive balls of his. To make that call in the NFC Championship game is gutsy. Especially, if it didn’t work and doing the walk of shame back to the sidelines with Parcells waiting for you.

They had an interview with Bavaro last week for over an hour. It was great. Bavaro was always such a man of few words, I was surprised at how open and talkative he was. Called the 49ers pussies!

God I loved those teams under Parcells. There were so many players that were/are under appreciated. Loved Reasons he would have been an pro bowler on other teams.
Sorry I missed Bavaro on the podcast. He would have fit in with that great LBer crew easy. He was a LBer that played TE.
Man I miss those guys.

Nah, I’m normally not into pod casts. But, to listen to Bavaro talk for an hour I’ll make an exception. There was this interview with the late great Steve Sabol and Bavaro. It’s was great, Sabol is talking to Mark and he’s giving him one word answers. It’s awesome, and Steve is saying “he’s not much for words.” But, once they start talking about his old man and next thing you know he’s talking. Bavaro is right. The 49ers are pussies..

Gary Reasons would have been an All Pro on any other team! I would give anything to have a Gary Reasons on this team now! The first video would have been penalty in today's"s game . How, I miss the old school football.

I still remember that goal line hit he made on 4th and inches. I could be wrong but I think it was against Denver. It is one one of those plays that is etched in my memory.
I watched the video after.

Loved that 89 team and what a shame they never met the 49ers in the playoffs. Reasons made a lot of big plays over the years.

The Gary Reasons "hit" always reminds me of Steve Atwater's hit on Christian Okoye but Reason's hit was at a more important moment. Also that entire goal line stand was amazing.

I was a huge Reasons fan. I'm a fan of any NYG that enjoys dishing contact and has a nose for the football. Good ole' "football intelligence" on full display as well.

Incredible linebacker and perhaps the most underrated NYG of all time.
He had all pro talent, playing among a group of HOF players.
Great grit and nose for the ball.
Happy Birthday Gary!

Bavaro is one player who, even tho the numbers might not be there, should be in the Hall. Sometimes at the TE position, the numbers don’t tell the true story of a great player

Reasons was the first player I ever heard the announcers say “The ball finds him.” He was always around loose balls and tipped balls. I thought that guy Connelly that the Giants cut 2 years ago after the ACL tear was going to be like him. Every team needs a Gary Reasons.

Apparently, it was something that he had the authority to call if the right formation presented itself.

In a season and playoffs there’s a lot of plays that get a team to a SB but that play has got to be in the top 3.
