Titans just released him, previously on Pats. Very good vet CB, this is the position where I'd like our team to be looking, outside of the upcoming draft - thoughts on picking him up?

He is coming off his best season. DRC hit his peak around the same time ( age) and then fell off. He is going to want to get paid and he is 31. This has albatross written all over it.

I thought he might fit in with what I would call now a "cerebral" secondary, plus add more physical abilities. As we've been discussing, there's going to be plenty of guys who want to get paid this off season, but many will have to settle for just finding a spot.

Not a bad idea. Good player, fits a position of need. The question is, how are we paying him? I'm sure he won't take an IOU.

Given the new cap number, tons of teams are going to release players. I presume many will be corners. Best to be patient in the FA market because a lot of these guys will come on the cheap. Not a good year to be a mid line free agent.

The union has a bigger problem agreeing to the this cap number. This will hurt the 2nd tier players more than anyone.

At what cost to the 2nd tier players this year (and i kinda include Tomlinson in this group) I can see a scenario where many end up unemployed most of not all the season because so many teams don't have the funds to give short term that these guys usually get.

Very good move You know that Logan Ryan is telling Gettleman to get him This is a player who's name jumps out at me, for the one defensive position I really feel needs addressing (if other contracts are done, of course). Made the game clinching INT at the end of one S.B., caused Belechick enormous grief by not playing him in the next and saw his secondary spanked. Then a career season for the Titans. Our defense could become a monster, with still the possibility of acquiring that beast Edge the next season.

I wonder if this is going to cause alot of free agents signing cheaper 1 year deals with the hopes that they have a good season and get their pay day in 2022

I have no clue what he'd demand in terms of a contract, but I love the idea of going after a veteran LB, CB, or OL in FA.

this is just another case of bringing in a player who has already played his best games for some other team, just say no...

I wish he was younger, but he just had his best season and it's not like he's ready to fall off a cliff. With the way players are being let go this off season, and the competition between them to land a spot, we might not need to do a long term deal.

Maybe with offseason for Lemieux to work on his pass pro will do him good he played a lot of snaps and now knows what needs be done kid seems pretty Athletic for the position. Hernandez might fit better on the right side that is more road grader. to bad with Carter he was starting to be that swiss army knife in the front 7 just have to wait and see how this all goes.

I expect Hernandez to return to form, but Lemieux was a 5th round pick. He wasnt even supposed to see the field other than maybe ST but then we got hit with the COVID/injury bug and we NEEDED him to start. Lemieux might be a year or 2 away from reaching full potential, or he might be a career depth player, there IS a reason he wasnt selected before the 5th. I have faith that Hernandez and Lemieux will wind up being starting caliber players, but I dont know how long this will take, because there were times where Lemieux looked totally lost out there, just like Peart. I have a feeling that Carter will be more than OK for us, all of the experts were thinking 2020 was gonna be his breakout year

You can enjoy watching another double digit losing season but I won't..

I want WR bad but this kid seems like he is pretty damn close to Sewell as far as talent goes. Not saying he is better but he isn't far off. I am still holding out hope DG reworks a couple deals like Shep maybe extend Peppers and get Leo done. I don't think they need to rush either they don't need to be first day shoppers this free agency looks like the 2nd and 3rd waves will have plenty of good players. Most teams are in the same boat as us

Boy I wish we had some money this year. Players are going to be signed cheaper this year. Even if many sign a one year contract. Maybe 1 year guanteed on a 2 year contract so teams can put off money on that 2nd year with no intension of paying it. Either the player gets cut or restructured.
Seems like a lot of veteran CB's being let go into FA. I think we could get a 2nd tier CB in FA for a great price. At least for a year or 2.
I don't know how were doing anything in FA to be honest. But ever hopeful.
