There is a bit of a parallel if you are a fan of the US Mens National Team. We appear to be coming out of our darkest period with a team of young and promising talent. Main difference is that that there has never been this much talent in the US (though actually they are playing in Europe). I am very much looking forward to seeing what Pulisic, McKennie, Adams, Dest and Reyna can do together in the next World Cup. Even better is there are 3-4 emerging right behind them. A great time to be a US Soccer fan.

Guess not - lol.
Just kidding, I know its the most watched sport in the world. I will never watch it because I already have enough sports to watch in my life. And any time I have watched it I found it incredibly boring. I'm sure that's partly because I don't understand it, but there is little to no scoring in most games and possession seems to change every 5 seconds.
And then there's the horns. I was watching one world cup game and thought there was something wrong with my TV audio. Only to discover it was fans sounding horns the entire match. Gave me a headache after 10 mins.

I agree on the vuvuzelas. Fortunately they seem to be losing popularity. I hear you on why you don’t like it and it is fair (taste is relative). I love no commercials! They physical play and the excitement of the goals.

I've watched a few matches in recent years as we have employees from other countries who are huge fans. Having a routing interest, I found it pretty enjoyable.
I've quit watching the 3 other major US sports. I enjoy men's tennis (Federer fan) and occasionally auto racing in a very casual sense.
