This reminds me exactly of the Eli Apple fiasco.
TB and ATL trade in front and behind us. Directly. TB knew we wanted Floyd or Apple, as was mentioned the couple days prior, and they traded behind us wanting Hargraves knowing we wouldn't take him, giving AtL Floyd directly in front of us.
Same thing but with decision rivals.
Glad this time we traded back.

How the F@#@ do you think were doing anything more about it really lol they got future picks and got an extra one this year. I said they need to find a partner and they ddi and made a good deal lol. Stophating the GM for minute a nd root for the team. Sure. Let me put blinders on and root. I can still hope Toney turns into a superstar WR and still admit we got played. That's what happened. Our decision rivals laughed at us at pick 11. Now, trading back was solid no argument there. But we obviously wanted Smith. Well if you can run over to their war room and hold them at gun point you can stop it there was no logical way to stop it the Eagles have been trying for weeks to get up there I'm not blaming our front office they did what they could.

Everybody knew we were taking Smith...just as every team knew the Steelers were taking Harris What what was impressive was the Cowboys knowing we were not going to take Parsons and still getting them at 12....after both their corners were snagged up and hearing Giants Parsons rumors and getting a 3 plus their guy...as all teams knew they were going cornerback.... as did teams know we were on Smith, and the Steelers on Harris. Great draft and trade...seemed so Patriots like in their trade back. IMHO of course...nah...it just was.

I have a feeling this was tbe exact type of playmaker we were targeting Smith/Waddle We probably knew either Toney or Eli Moore would be there and I think if Toney was taken ahead of us Moore was the pick
Saw this Coming with Kitchens getting more a role and the guy from LSU coming in.... We legit will at least try to look like a modern NFL offense

I'm confused. I thought this was JJs team. Why is anyone complaining about DG?

This was simple everyone was mocking different stuff Dg love Parsons Judge Loved Smith the front office loved Horn then it was Paye and they were trading up for sewell if he got by the Bengals, Eagles did what they had to there was one WR left and they new just by the fact we needed one that it was a good chance he was gonna get picked. Even Graziano said he had no Idea who the Giants would pick

Bottom line, I like the Toney pick after a trade back. I love getting the Bears 2022 pick. Don't like that we only got a 5th in 2021 however. We need help now.

Beggers can't be choosers I wanted a better pick this year to but next the draft is another strong one and they will have ammo to work or justvstay put and collect good players.

Now they face a WR they handed Philly after not landing a CB? They could have made the Bears trade.

How can it be terrible without Toney having played down 1 yet? We still have 6 picks left. Plus we have 2 first round picks next year. I guess we still have our leaks. Yeah, I guess the Eagles have a WiFi connection.

Gettleman didn’t get enough. A first next year and a 4th, with a 6th this draft for a potential franchise QB. Not enough. Gettleman panicked when the Eagles jumped ahead and took Smith. Lost out on blue chippers, passed on the best DE in the draft and reached for a good WR he likely could’ve gotten in the 2nd round. i think Dallas panicked. I don’t think so at all. Parsons is the real deal. I believe it’s who they wanted all along. He will give us fits for years.

It's funny that it seems almost 50% of this board complained that DG never trades back, and now that he does 50% complain about that too.
I'll judge in November.

I'd rather have Toney and extra picks, and have the Cowboys trade with a divisional opponent out of anger because they got hosed on CB's. And watch the Eagles draft a WR in the first round every year because they can't get it right... How that's viewed that as the Giants being played is a stretch.

I don't think DG panicked but we definitely got played. We were all in on Smith. Same here. I think Dave actually played it right after the Eagles trade. It wasn’t a panic move and he got some extra picks out of it. I hope Toney pans out

I think Gettleman did a great job. Toney is one of the best with a football in his hand and is extremely versatile. Can plan on the outside, in the slow and in the backfield; he is the the ultimate jack knife. Plus we have an extra first round pick in an upcoming extremely deep draft. Great job by DG.

I think we got a pretty got return from the bears, and am looking forward to watching Toney lined up opposite to Golloway. I think we did ok. We needed another WR. You can complain about the player but the value was abbout right plus we got a nice haul of picks.

Good Lord, Gettleman got a lot more than he should have....it was the Bears that panicked.
