Idk about that. Dallas want CB IMO b/c Carolina and Denver took their targets. Yes, they got Parsons yet that LB has wobbling wheels. They might just break even by addition and subtraction of players. Philly got a 166lbs receiver while they lost their QB and have a really weird coach. i think the Giants did well If Parsons character concerns are past him, he is going to be a star. And stop with 166 lb WR junk. D Smith is going to be a pain in the ass for a long time now for our defense. They lost Jalen Hurts? No, they lost Wentz. And i'm not laying off the weight b/c you want a player with a long career and he's a risk. He might play great but is he a 5-8 year player at that weight? Not to mention, Bama is dominant with and without him. If he plays for Ol'Miss is the drool over him a waterfall? Regarding Parsons, some of these fans have no shame with hypocrisy. The same who loathed him did a 180 and the suddenly wanted him at 11 lol. Literally no shame with a blind spot for no credibility. Again, Parsons is addition and subtraction being the Dllas linebacking corps is suddenly as wobbly as their OL.

Correct. We did let Slater go. I watched Toney quite a bit. You know this. Ive been pumping up Toney when people have been talking about Pitts. I saw a lot of Gator football last year. Toney is an athlete. Pure and simple. Blazing speed and quickness. He will most likely play an athlete role with us, which is great. He probably will return kicks too. That said, he isn't Smith. And his injuries worry me. What injuries worrying you? The nagging kind. He was in and out of games quite a bit in Gainesville. Im not saying he is soft, he isnt. He played through a bunch of injuries too, but the injuries are concerning. Kadarius Toney Positives Toney is an elite slot receiver with his elusiveness, speed and route-running ability. He ran a sub 4.4 at Florida’s Pro Day, with NFL scouts clocking him at 4.39 officially. He also impressed with his numbers in the broad jump (11-4), vertical jump (39.5) and three-cone drill (6.88 seconds). Toney consistently gets open, rarely drops passes and makes a killing off jerk routes, with NFL Media's Lance Zierlein calling his inside-pivot whip route “unguardable.” Toney is also a physical, tough runner who’s difficult to bring down with his acceleration, change of direction and open-field vision. Zierlen credited Toney for battling through injury against LSU and making several plays in the game, finishing with season-highs in catches (nine), receiving yards (184) and rushing yards (56). He posted 100-yard receiving games in his final three outings and four of his last five. Kadarius Toney Concerns Despite his effort in the regular season finale, Toney’s injury history will be monitored after he missed nine total games in 2017 and 2019. The latter injury was never disclosed publicly. He only had one season of high-level production as a result, catching just 10 passes two years ago. Although Toney has mastered some routes, he’s far from a finished product. He can be more creative and consistent as a route runner, with Zierlen noting that Toney has too much wasted motion in and out of breaks and his route speed looks turned down at times. Zierlen adds that Toney can also play with better strength against tight man at the top of his routes. Speed had also been a concern for Toney, but he put that to bed with his 40 time at Pro Day.

How did D.G. get played? What was he supposed to do? Trade up for the Slim Reaper and give up assests needed to fill the many holes we still have? Smith was available with one team ahead of us that wasn't going to take a WR. They let the board some to them, rightfully so, and adjusted accordingly when they didn't see a player they wanted at that position. Did the right thing in my opinion. Still picked up a versatile receiver and can now build with more picks. The team, team got played. DG not so much. I actually think he did an ok job handling this all. I would have liked more in 2021, like a 3rd instead of the 5th, but getting next years 1st from Chicago is great. Toney was on my radar too later in the 1st round. I didnt think it would be us though. The Giants got played by the Eagles and Cowboys. Eagles knew we were going Smith, which Im 99% sure we were, and snatched him from us. Dallas knowing that too, and I guess knowing we werent going Parsons after they missed out on the CBs. Lets not act like the Eagles didnt tank last year on purpose to keep us out of the playoffs. It was embarrassing obvious. We still needed to take care of it ourselves, but that did happen. Now this. The Giants did not get played. It's the draft and they pick at #11. Smith was not a Giant despite some fans obsession with him. It wasn't the Giants right to make Smith a Giant. They weren't even picking, they were waiting their turn. That's not being played.

How can it be terrible without Toney having played down 1 yet? We still have 6 picks left. Plus we have 2 first round picks next year. I'm getting sick of everything with this team being "next year"

Lol after 1 round? It wasn't some mystery that the Giants were probably going to take Smith. It wasn't a leak, it was a simple deduction. It wasn't a secret that we needed offensive playmakers, we all knew it. When Waddle, Pitts and Chase all went, who else was left?
We still ended up with an offensive play maker and got 3 picks including a #1. What is so terrible about that?

He was the top defensive prospect in this draft. Unbelievably athletic LB.

Wentz was their starter yet the HC and circus around there caused a parting. No way the Eagles are set with Hurts and they know it. He has to prove it and he has 17 games to do so. Regarding Parsons, not sure which direction your going. I keep mentioning the Dallas linebacking corp and you keep trying to sell me on the player. I don't need to be sold on him.

LOL, we all knew a trade back was a possibility and they got great value for the #11 pick .How people are upset over this is crazy. The Giants need to come out and sweep the eaglets and cowgirls next year . The fact that they traded together to screw another team in the division is very telling. Best draft move the Giants have made in a decade

Sounds like a great write up....a QB learning the position and finally killing it last season. I watched all their games as well....kid kills on the field Injuries certainly nothing like Waddles....as long as not the concussion type.... and the Giants passed him, so not worried at all...equal to any other smaller wide receiver who's going to get pounded by larger NFL players. All at risk. This is a first round talent...and going to give teams fits trying to cover. Julian Edelman on steroids...with outside x speed...."speed was a concern"...the write up actually said that.

I'm getting sick of everything with this team being "next year" If you were a fan of New England from 2001 to 2019 did you get sick of being perennially a super bowl contender? Because this is what they always do Stockpile future picks to add more good football players We got our dynamic playmaker and a probable top 15 2022 1st in a year supposedly much deeper in tbe draft..

Well if Smith was there they were pouncing though some are speculating that Waddle was the actual target as Gettleman was starting the trade talks after the 7th pick

This is the problem it isn't about the draft it's about the man who drafts and some just can't say he did good lol. I have always been a Gettleman supporter but I must admit to being disappointed by missing out on the big names taken ahead of us, I'm sure it will all turn out OK but I was hoping for a big playmaker on defense...

Just really wasn't there this year Parsons closest thing I have to think what the coaches who had experience with him didn't give a glowing endorsement. I'm just thrilled they had a plan for what ever came up ended up with playmaker and the power to move up next year if need be.

When was the last time the Giants had 2 number one picks in a draft. I’m old and can’t ever remember this. 3 years ago they had three Jones Lawrence and at the bottom Baker.

We. Did. Not. Get. Played.
And even if we did...how would we know?
By every definition, Dallas's trade with the eagles was dumb. They handed a division rival Smith to take the guy they could have taken at 10. It doesn't make sense, and never will make sense strategically.
If you think that Judge and DG should have anticipated total stupidity, then sure, we got played.
Oh I almost forgot, since people don't like it, it's DG's fault. Even though this is judge's team and Judge has more power. Guess he got played too? Everyone should take a second and analyze the rationality behind these thoughts. Doesn't hold up to any scrutiny.
I loved Smith, wanted him for weeks. Thought we were gonna get him. Not in my wildest dreams did I think the cowboys would trade back two spots to take the same player they could have at 10 and hand him to the eagles.
The other thing I don't know...maybe we were trading back the whole time because the gap between toney and Smith on their board wasn't big enough to not take the opportunity for a first rounder next year.

And look, I get it, losing so much makes you look at everything through an irrational lens. I've done it too, but there is zero logic or evidence behind it.

Also, every year multiple teams miss out on players they want, that's the draft. It's not unique to the Giants. That's why there is multi faceted strategy involved and a lot of complex thought and scenarios that go into this decision making.

Gettleman didn’t get enough. A first next year and a 4th, with a 6th this draft for a potential franchise QB. Not enough. Gettleman panicked when the Eagles jumped ahead and took Smith. Lost out on blue chippers, passed on the best DE in the draft and reached for a good WR he likely could’ve gotten in the 2nd round. wrong on all accounts. I was pissed initially but there was no panic at all and he got a good deal
