I was 11 at the time and have no recollection of that story. Thankfully.

I always liked Randy Johnson. Died a very unfortunate death. Didn't Dick Shiner (huh huh huh...huh huh hih...his name was Dick) play for the Giants back then as well? Seems they always ended up with the jag circuit trash that failed with the Falcons back then

I really thought Johnson was our future QB back then.
I have posted this before. Randy Johnson had a terrible end. He died in a shed and suffered from alcoholism. It was really a sad story.

I don’t think I knew about him until you posted about him.

I don’t think I knew about him until you posted about him. He was actually our starting QB for half of 1973. The team was awful. He wasn't bad though.
He was also the "other" number 11.

I was a more casual Giants fan as a young kid but very much into the Knicks which I know you were into as well.

I remember him he was in an era that is probably the worse in the history of the Giant franchise. Both him and Snead had some success with their former teams. We just went thru QB's in those 15 years one after the other. I thought Randy Johnson was a pretty good passer.

I was a more casual Giants fan as a young kid but very much into the Knicks which I know you were into as well. My father is a big sports fan. He loved the Giants and my brother is three years older than me so I was pulled into everything he was into and he was into whatever my Dad was into. My father is a Giants, Knicks, Mets fan. That was suboptimal for us growing up in the Bronx. But we went to a lot of Giants and Knicks games. He shared season tickets with a friend and my brother and I were the usual come alongs. We didn't go to a lot baseballs games but the ones we went to were cool ones. Mayor's Trophy games at both parks, the All Star game at Yankee Stadium, and couple of Yankees World Series games. I have no idea how he got those tickets. I know he did a lot of legal work for fellow cops for free and barter. I figure a good amount of them were probably that. He didn't care about hockey and I became a Rangers fan during the mid '70s. For some reason my brother decided to become an Islanders fan right around the '70s the time they started winning, '79 maybe? I don't know but I'm convinced he did it just to piss me off.

I was pretty young so I could certainly be wrong about that.

The teams were such crap he could have been the 2nd coming of John Unitas and would look like crap. Just to be clear he was no way an all star or anywhere near one. He might have been a giant for a year maybe 2. I think he was more hype than substance. Him and Snead were near the end of their careers.
