Nice us and the Bucs in the same sentence. That NFC title game should be fun.

This was expected. When you spend over $100 million in guaranteed money this offseason, you’re leaving yourself very thin on the cap. Which is fine, the ceiling for the ‘22 season is $208.2 million. The Giants gave themselves a window to be aggressive this year.

And with an extra 1st rounder and one or two others from the trades this draft, hopefully we'll be in a good position to not have to worry about it next off season, rely on the draft capital, and we should be in pretty good shape after that.

Exactly, We have 7 picks in the first 4 rds. With 2 1st rounders. 10 picks all together. We can accomplish a lot in the draft next year saving the cap hit from FA's. But as this year has shown us it's a soft cap and we can maneuver if we have to. The cap goes up next year and way up in 2023. Were fine. We can re sign our own and not worry about too much else. If the Giants want somebody like Peppers or Hernandez or whoever we can make it work. Were in good enough shape next year and should be in real fine shape in 2023. With what I've seen this season when we had no room on the cap I'm not worried about making the numbers work again for us if needed.

This is a problem 3 months before the season because? Yea I don’t see any issue with this….all rookies are signed and they made all their FA moves already. Cuts for contracted players post camp will make more room as well.

This is a problem 3 months before the season because? It's an observation. Who said it's a problem? I'd rather them spend the money they have and get as close as they can to the salary cap. Although, it would be nice to be able to sign some names cut as the rosters thin to help out the OL.

Although, it would be nice to be able to sign some names cut as the rosters thin to help out the OL. The Giants could do that still. Their cap situation isn't good this year but they could leverage future years. I agree 100 percent about OL help but ive come around to believe the Giants don't believe they need Oline help. I don't know why but they do. Also, I don't believe a quality Oline will become available since every team has cap space. It looks like they are saving their money to sign players like the Giants signed this year for more money.

Unless the NYGs suffer OL injuries.

But hey, after the "Gettlemagic" this offseason squeezing all these players under the cap when we were originally over it, nothing is impossible. The cap can always get manipulated.

That means the money is actually being spent on the roster. This is a problem 3 months before the season because? Reasons for fans to complain. Nothing more.

This was easy to see coming.. Gettymagic with all these signings was going to have to pay the piper and it will be next year.. This actually was a needed thing to do since the roster was STILL bad but the choice of players is very questionable..

Not an issue for this year, maybe for next year, but I think they see a couple of big contracts (Shep, Solder) coming off the books after this season so we'll see if that mitigates this issue for the next couple of years when they presumably will have to look at resigning some other guys like Lawrence and Peppers.

You know times have been bad when we’re thriving for respectability. For sure when 6-10 and being competitive is like a GIANT step forward it said all you need to know about the last 8 to 9 years. One word comes it up pathetic, Some will say but but but 2016 BS if it aint sustainable and the team looks worse then it did before 2016 it don't count lol. I this spending spree doesn't work out they all will go except for the guy who ordered it the owner.

Im just ready for this team to start winning again and spending money wisely. Hasn't happened in a long time. Last year they had a great free agent class it turned the defense around along with having an actual coach who coaches to his players strengths. Last year was the first that the team wasn't restrained by the cap since the 2015 spending spree. I this one doesn't work out the result will be the same heads will roll

They had to go all in this offseason. This was expected. Fans get so involved with CAP myself included, sometimes you just need to spend, sometimes you dont.. this was the time to spend.

I'm all for spending money that isn't mine. I'll never understand fans who lose sleep over how Billionaires spend their money. Accorsi was frugal, Reese was just cheap. Even when he had premier players like Andrew Whitworth begging us to sign him. I love that this front office has no qualms about spending the owner's money. The goal isn't to go into the season with the most cap room.

Yep, draft capital...and on a positive note...if Daniel Jones stands in quicksand, we can use that capital to get the next QB. Hopefully Jones plays well, and our own pick is in the playoff area...and Chicago is top 3-5 bad, and we end up with the elite pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.
