I figure this will be a hot topic to follow through the 2021 season since we have their 1st round pick and want them to lose every game. As of right now, I believe they are going to start Andy Dalton week 1 until Justin Fields is ready. Allen Robinson is still a legit #1 WR IMO. Their defense should still be pretty solid too. We match up with them week 17, which is now the 2nd to last week of the regular season.

My early take the Bears are like 6-11 this year. That should be a top 10 pick. Don't think it makes the top 5. I hope this is how it goes anyway.
The Bear defense will still be a tough defense still. Don't think they'll be quite as good as the last 2 years. I know they lost a top CB Fuller. Don't know anybody else that either left or came in.
Their offense is like ours in that is a question mark.

I wonder how long they wait to pull the trigger on Fields. We all know what Andy Dalton is already.
Also, we have to hope Fields isn't too good especially if Jones struggles. That would be awful to pass on him if he turns into anything great.

And realistically...I can see them starting 2-6, and there's no way Dalton starts all those games.

Apparently, Fields could come out as the starter week 1.

I just put on the Bears Dolphins game.
Start of the 2nd half Fields was in. He just carved up the defense pretty easily and ran one in for a TD. Looked good.

2nd drive, carves them up again on the ground and in the air, big TD pass on a broken defensive play on the play action.
He looks fast out there. Great touch on the ball too so far.

People are already talking about how the Giants should have moved on from Jones and just drafted Fields. Time will tell of course. IMO. Fields is going to be really damn good in the future.

I like Fields, but let’s slow this roll. Jones tore it up in his first season

That would be awful.

Other altering next year's draft slot Fields' success or failure has ZERO to do with the NYGs .

Rookie OT Tevin Jenkins out indefinitely due to back surgery He was supposed to play LT ...... You never want to hear that. Sucks for their fans a young player. Who knows, they might surprise some people, Fields looked pretty good for a rookie. Obviously I'm rooting for their failure but I hope they fail at full strength...

But there will always be comparisons between him and Jones given that we traded away that pick instead of drafting him.
Just like Eli, Ben and Rivers will always be compared to one another.

How is that analogy. Not drafted the same years? Eli, Ben and Rivers were. Sorry MH. Fields' success or failure has noting to do with Jones. The Giants were not drafting ANY QBs in the early rounds since Jones was drafted.

The Giants were not drafting ANY QBs in the early rounds since Jones was drafted. The only connection it has is we traded out of that spot where he was drafted. We were not going to draft him but thats besides the point. If he turns into a star QB, while Jones falters, it will be looked at in that light. Like for example but not exact scenario, the Jags not drafting Patrick Mahomes at #4 in 2017 (they drafted Fournette) since they drafted Blake Bortles in 2014. Blake showed some good seasons a couple of years, like Jones did his rookie year. But a lot of Jags fans are connecting that dot. "We should have drafted Mahomes when we had Bortles". Hindsight? Absolutely. And thats what will happen in this case if that scenario plays out, especially since we traded out of that spot.

I get that but not even considering drafting a QB 2021 is THE POINT. Hindsight is also useless. The optics of it may be considered but in reality Fields has nothing to do with Jones.
