Says who? I assume its your opinion, which is fine, Not an opinion. So like I said who said that is the depth chart? Because if it wasn't Joe Judge then that's your opinion.

So like I said who said that is the depth chart? Because if it wasn't Joe Judge then that's your opinion. You need Joe Judge to give the stamp approval for who’s going to start on the defensive line? Williams and Lawrence are written in permanent ink. And Shelton unless he gets hurt. Will be our nose tackle. It’s not far fetched to say those three are our starters. Judge has yet to say Daniel Jones is the starter. Should we wait till the depth chart comes out to answer that question?

Shelton is the same 2 technique nose that Tomlinson was. Who do you see challenging him? Austin Johnson? Hill is a 4 and 5 technique. Both are rotational linemen. Lawrence will play the same role as last year. I don't think Shelton is a huge drop from Tomlinson, but we don't have a better natural nose. We didn't sign him to be a backup. Not to what we currently have anyway.

Shelton isn’t Charlie Brown, but he’s no where near the player Tomlinson is.

ESPN has already gone on record by predicting the Giants to finish dead last in their division, but who plays any attention to ESPN any more, they seem to have lost a lot of their credibility.. On what grounds do they say this Jerruh owns stock in ESPN so why is that surprising

All I wanted was some reasoning behind it. He said it was not an opinion, which makes me think there is some news that I missed hence why I asked where he got the info. There are many positions, most of this team, where the starter is set. The 3rd DL is one I don't think is set. My opinion. See we can all have one.

And I’m sure that was one of Graham’s selling points when he signed here.

I expect the defense to be better this year with Shelton. Tomlinson is better, but let’s not get carried away. The gap isn't that wide. They found the best possible replacement.

Thought you read something worth sharing. Turns out it's your opinion (despite you claiming otherwise). Yes it could go the way you described. I think Johnson will compete much more than you're giving him credit for. He has played on this team in this system. We also re-signed him this year so clearly we like him. Not only did we re-sign him but the contract we gave him is almost 3 times bigger than the contract we gave Shelton.
I'm not saying he will win, but I think it will 100% be a competition between then. There is always a chance we move Lawrence to DT and roll with Hill or someone as the DE. I think this is a lesser chance because I think Lawrence is better as the DE, but if the DL as a whole is better this way it could happen.

Four teams in seven years. “Stout” players don’t get tossed around like a cheap hooker. I agree he’s a good player though. Replacing Tomlinson is no easy task, but we got a discount on a player who fits our scheme.

Whether that's official or assumed, who else could you play there? If there were any legitimate competition, you might have an argument. I see some good competition at LB, I don't see any on the DL.

Not only did we re-sign him but the contract we gave him is almost 3 times bigger than the contract we gave Shelton. He also has a history from college working with Sean Spencer. It's not an accident we signed him last year, then re-signed him this year for double the pay. I'm not saying he will win, but I think it will 100% be a competition between then. There is always a chance we move Lawrence to DT and roll with Hill or someone as the DE. I like Shelton, I don't think he is some amazing world beater though. This is his 4th team in 6 years. He will need to earn his spot no matter what the media projected depth charts say.
From Giants.com "Defensive Line
Due to the heavy rotation typically used on the defensive line, whoever is named a starter is not very significant. It will be interesting to see, however, who ends up replacing most of Dalvin Tomlinson's snaps as the 3-4 nose tackle and the defensive tackle lined up closest to the center in even-fronts.
Austin Johnson and BJ Hill return from last season, with Johnson having more experience playing over the center. The Giants also added massive Danny Shelton (6'2, 345) to provide more beef up the middle. He has a track record as a good run defender during his NFL career. There will also be a fun competition for the remaining defensive line spots between RJ McIntosh, undrafted free agent Raymond Johnson III and second-year player David Moa."

So in addition to Benjamin they released Taquan Mizzell...(probably an injury settlement)
Methinks Core is coming back, which is a very good thing if it happens as this guy was a legit special teams ace
