Years past we would see the starters play a couple of drives week one, about a quarter week two and then a half week three. 2nd and 3rd team usually played the entire fourth game.
Injuries aside, what do we think about the structure of this preseason? Especially now with only three games.
I would have liked to have seen the starters play a quarter and then roughly a half in the second game. Save week three for guys fighting for roster spots. Didnt think this one half was enough for the starting units.

The starters had 4 days worth of scrimmages, they got plenty of work. Looks like they need as much as they could get. Week of a QB in a Red jersey doesnt replicate a game day situation.

I don’t like it. Again, most of you already know that I am with the old ways. This just proves they are more effective. Jones is ill prepared and anyone that is of significant importance is hurt. These guys have had NO playtime together. This is shit and I’m beginning to think Judge is not our answer either.

I think maybe a couple drives in game 2 would have been beneficial. We will have to see how they come out, Right now they look a long way off. when Garret is bright red and pissed off thats a bad sign lol.

I wasn't a fan of it, that said I totally get why Judge did it and long term probably playing it safe is the call, that said even with scrimages the first team in particular the o-line the most vital part of the teams success this year outside of Jones did not look close to ready.. Personally, I feel they should've gotten more reps bc clearly they couldn't have looked all that good in those scrimages. I don't care if it was against twos.
That oline looked awful and the fact Judge still has a rotation going in this last preseson game means he's clearly at a lost as of what to do. Not looking good right now.

I posted in Game Day how Charlie Weiss was ranting about this this past week, and not just about the Giants but he made a point to include them.
Is the Giants offense so good that they wouldn't have benefited by the extra work?
Which Giants offensive starters looked sharp today?

I want Clement. If Barkley ain’t ready, Clement has to start. Forget Booker and whoever else. Platzgummer doesn’t even make the team.

They looked like it is probably not a comment you're going to hear in response. The point is, preseason reps vs backups does not get your OL ready. So stunts and twists Vs backups in a live game setting where your QB can be hit is just nonexistent?

Unfortunately many of the playmakers that we are dependent on had zero point zero snaps and were not part of either combined practices so ......

If thats what you believe so be it. I think this unit needs more reps together regardless who the other team puts out there. And it showed.

Forget the preseason plan or who should have started when. This team is talent deficient along the o-line, and you can't be successful when that is where you are at your worst. They can play 100 games from now until Denver, they will still be talent deficient. There is no saving this team, just a hope and a prayer Andrew Thomas and Peart/Solder play ****ing better.

Unfortunately many of the playmakers that we are dependent on had zero point zero snaps and were not part of either combined practices so ...... Golladay and Toney don't play on the O-line. Randy Moss isn't getting balls in an offense where the quarterback is under perpetual pressure like Jones.

Even still, 5 of 11 doesn't exactly instill confidence especially when key positions didn't exactly impress as expected.

Smith? He is now. Clement could very well be sharing the bulk of snaps in the next game. What key positions are you taking about? Thomas and Slayton are the only ones that bombed.

I'm simply talking in terms of watching our 1's going against theirs and coming away with a general feeling of confidence.
That did not happen.
