This is the kid that I want more than any other college player right now. He's just a sophomore this year so it'll be another year before we have a chance to draft him. I doubt we re-sign Engram and Rudolphs contract lasts two years so it could be a perfect transition.
1st game for Notre Dame this year: 9 Receptions 120 Yards 1 TD
Notre Dame had a terrible day rushing, but Mayer is a good run blocker. Will get better as he gains more college strength.

Good call Mike...he's the next great tight end This year they have Kyle Hamilton that should be top 10, despite the safety value. This interception is simply insane

Where do you think his value is in the draft? Where would you draft him?

Where do you think his value is in the draft? Where would you draft him? Honestly looking at the value of great TEs in this league there is no ceiling to his value. In years past I would have say he could sneak into the top ten but now, after this past draft especially, I don't think anything is out of the question. It will depend heavily on the QB and pass rushers though. Those take precedence over every other position. A great TE is up there with WRs and CBs though.
Now if I'm the Giants and end up with some top 5 pick (lets say via trading the Bears pick this year so we can pretend we are a good team not in need of a QB) I would consider trading back a few spots if a good trade comes in. If not I would have no issue taking this kid anywhere. Do a re-draft of 2010 (deep draft btw) and where would Gronk go? Certainly top 10, maybe top 5.

Wow. I didn't expect top half of the first at all. He does seem too fast but he has good hands and looks the part. I wonder if he comes out this year.

Next year is the earliest. Kyle Pitts went #4 this draft. By the time Mayer comes out he will has just as much hype as Pitts but with comparisons to Gronk, Ertz and Witten (not from me btw).
