DeVonte Smith 8 targets, 6 catches for 71 yards, 1 TD Ja’Marr Chase 7 targets, 5 catches for 101 yards, 1 TD Jaylen Waddle 6 targets, 4 catches, 62 yards, 1 TD
Kadarus Tony 2 targets, 2 catches, -2 yards, 0 TD
Can this organization draft high impact players??? I’m so tired of watching other teams out maneuver us in the draft and take our guys while we end up with guys like the left tackle who shall remain forever unnamed and guys like Tony who are “projects”. Giants need 1round picks that make immediate impact and are reliable.
Fire Gettleman and get someone from outside the organization who understands the modern game and today’s players.

It tells me that something is very very wrong and no matter who them seem to bring it IT'S AN EPIC FAIL and frankly I'm bout fed up. I'm glad I no longer cater to sports like I used to 5 yrs ago and it in the grand scheme of things really don't matter lol. Still is laughable and a buffonery what this franchise has become smdh.

Tells you we really missed out on Devonta Smith. That kid looks like a legit playmaker. Eagles Cowboys really screwed us, again.

this team is going to have to go back to the drawing board and figure out who or what the heck's wrong with this team, my personal choice for the culprit is Jason Garrett..

It tells me the Cowboys traded with a division rival and the Giants made one of the two best moves they could, trade down for a haul (which they did) or take Slater.
They thought they were set on the oline so they did the other thing.

There is no doubt in my mind. You know I have defended Slayton as much as anyone. I remembered my complaints of him last year...he can't make contested catches. When he gets open he is golden and can carve people up, but if someone is near him he doesn't make the catch. Toney has fantastic hands though and will make contested catches and carve up a D. I have no doubt he's going to take that spot from Slayton.

Brandin Cooks 8 targets, 7 receptions for 77 yards, 1 TD Kelvin Benjamin 8 targets, 6 receptions for 96 yards, 1 TD
Odell Beckham 0 targets, 0 receptions for 0 yards, 0 TD
Who was better? 1 game does not make a career.

You know that. I will say this. He was in the position to catch the ball yesterday. Half of our receiving crew was not. Or the ball would have been thrown to them.

Toney is a very talented and is just as talented as those guys, it is up to Garrett to figure out how to use him but that is the thing, I don't think Garrett is the guy to use all the talent we have at the Skill Positions correctly. 2-4 Yard Routes, a few predictable Reverses, Jet Sweeps or end rounds and a swing Pass:
Meanwhile smarter and far more creative Offensive Coordinators actually used their young receives to the best of their abilities by allowing them to get DOWNFIELD and not some swing pass 3 yards behind the Line of Scrimmage...

Part of being a pro, is your availability. Those three players stayed relatively healthy, and are up to speed with the playbook. Our guy, is still on print name here. And, those players are receivers by trade, Toney is still learning the position and is a gimmick player at the moment.

Honestly imho it was a minor miracle that Smith was on the board when the Eagles and Dallas made their up yours to the Giants trade. I did not think any one of those WR's were going to be available and I said as much before the draft right here on this board. Also it's easy for folks to gripe now but there was hardly one person here pre-draft who thought the Giants should trade up to snag one of these WR's.
So this hindsight trip is a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

He's a 1st rounder so I'm hoping for a well-rounded receiver and not mainly gadget player. I get it he had COVID and a rough camp but I think he's got a lot of work to do. Not sure where his head is at - he still has pictures of him in his Florida gear on social media, it's time to turn it up a few notches.

seems like we get screwed a lot come draft time, other teams jump us for guys we want, or they just screw themselves by drafting the wrong players.. Usually why bad teams stay bad teams. Hoping yesterday was just them knocking off the rust. I expect tony will have a significant role. HE missed way to much football this offseason to have a lot of playing time yesterday.

I agree with the issue of getting out maneuvered in drafts. However, I do think Toney can be good if we have an O.C who can create schemes for him. This guy was a stud at Florida and has all the tools. I think our offense is stale and easy to defend against. There is no creativity. Yes DG needs to be let go off that should have happened all ready. But it also calls for an overhaul of the FO as well.
