Can any Dave Gettleman supporters tell me why I’m sitting here watching the KC O line hold their own against one of the best defensive lines in the league when 4 of the 5 O linemen are first time starters and we’re going on year 4 under DG who made the O line his first priority but I’m still hearing excuses of how it takes several years to build an O line. I can use several other teams as examples as well if you care to debate.

I can explain it to you...the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and the Ravens are lining up with 6 defensive backs to cover Hill and Kelce and encourage handoffs. Makes it easier on the oline.
As for the Giants, if you haven't noticed, the pass protection has been just fine this season. Even last week when they were down 2 starters. The running game outside of qb runs has looked pretty bad, but hopefully it's coming. Need to stretch the field more with Golladay and Slayton.

Mahomes plays in an offense where they move the pocket. Andy Reed is an amazing play caller and offensive mind they have big time yac the ball is out quick into the plethora of weapons hands fast. last the Ravens are a good D but they don't have fire power of the Bronco's and definitely not the WFT. You wanna beat Reeds offense better cover up the short stuff and get them on the ground as soon as the catch it force Mahomes to hold onto the ball.

I will leave this here for a positive Andrew Thomas 4 pressures in 88 passpro snaps against some heavy weights. They are all young there is more improvement coming and there will be more hurdles I'm sure, this is good to see seems to be a dedicated kid hard worker.

I am not one to give praise for this team as winning is the only stat that matters but I applaud the oline and Thomas. The challenge they faced against Washington was big and when you add in the Oline shuffling that took place it was impressive on how well they played. Can they keep doing it and be consistent? I am not sure just yet but it was a step in the right direction. They need a win badly. I watched Atlanta and the Giants can beat them if the defense shows up and we see the offense like we did at Washington.

What I should have assumed is that they’re full of shit, know it, and have no answers (only excuses) so they wouldn’t respond which is exactly what happened.

Yeah, 9 pressures and 2 sacks is “just fine” and that was only against Washington. KC also held their own against Cleveland, got an excuse for that one? I can’t wait to hear why the Chiefs built a better O line in one year than what it’s taken DG to build in 4. I’m sure every game will have an asterik by it as an excuse.

Vinnie, while I agree that it took too long to build the Oline, even you have to admit that the Oline played well this past Thursday, on the road, with a short week, against one of the best Dlines in the NFL.
And that’s with losing their most reliable player.
Right now the Giants don’t know how to FINISH. They can’t finish a half, they can’t finish most good drives, they can’t finish a game.

Yeah it's amazing the Garrett scapegoating going on here. Jones and the offense look good for the first time in God knows how long. Judge and Graham continue their streak of incompetence and Garrett sucks...

It’s a bit discouraging. Andy Reid knows offensive lineman. He knows what he wants. They tend to do more zone blocking, which is generally easier for shuffling parts. The reality is…whoever the Giants have had in their scouting departments…they cant evaluate great olineman, LBers, or pass rushers.

I don't think the oline is the main issue right now.. Agree think maybe 3rd down defense probably tops the list, Last year it was the offense. This year it now resembles from 2013 through 2015 where TC finally would just go for it on 4th down instead of sending there defense out to give up the lead. If they don't get their defensive struggles straight it will be an extremely long year and most likely big changes. When I watched these first 2 games it gave me a sick feeling.

I think the Giants problems go back to Hal Hunter for 2 years then Columbo coaching matters Farety is back in the building and with spare parts they are getting it done.

I would say they looked decent at best, so did the Chargers O line against Washington and the Chargers O line was the only one ranked worse than ours. Encouraging? A little but there’s still a lot that remains to be seen and 9 pressures with 2 sacks isn’t exactly flattering and the run blocking was still lackluster. Moat analysts comments I’ve read aren’t praising the O line like a lot of people here. I think so many people (including my self) are used to seeing them so bad that even when they play below average they get excited and think they played well.

We talk about it all week then watch to see what happens then talk about it some more. Here it’s 72 degrees, sunny and beautiful today.

It’s supposed to be upper 90’s here today which is probably part of the reason for my extra foul mood. Hot, humid and having to deal with cowboys crap all week since they won. I can see The Star from where I’m at right now, blah. I think tomorrow we get our “cool” front and it should be mid 80’s for the rest of the week.
