I can see it now, these injuries will allow Dave to stay for another year.

I thought he was finished from that injury right from the beginning. He is tough but to try and play thru it could only hurt himself more.
As far as the team goes we seem to have a musical chairs situation at LG so maybe whoever wins it Breseden, Peart, whoever we make it work. I do think Price will be ok a Center for some reason. Just more hope the more he plays.
I think I would like to see what Peart can do on the left side with Andrews. Somehow this OL needs to work out.

Not if this defense doesn't get rolling, Unless after a few games they find out Price is legit and Bredeson becomes a solid starter then Gettlemen will get credit for continuing to work the roster and push to upgrade at all times he would deserve the props, we are a long way from that, teams are gonna have film on these new pieces now and will attack them until they get really comfortable they have only been here a few weeks. He's not safe.

I didn't hear what Lemeiux's actually injury was, but rough to see this happen to the kid. I hope he gets a chance to prove himself next year.
edit: Partially torn patella.

What happened to "Giants survive injury scare with Lemiuex" at the beginning of camp?.. That injury wasn't supposed to be serious. Then he has a torn patella, then they're playing him week 1. Had they given him proper rest, we might've had him back at some point. Sure looks like this staff bungled the crap out of that situation.

They tried to see if the injury would heal with rest. It didnât, so he had surgery. Pretty simple.

I can see it now, these injuries will allow Dave to stay for another year. Which would be odd, being he totally ignored the draft for IOL...and...Slater

I kind of had a feeling this was the ultimate outcome when I read it was a Patella tendon injury.

Just a poor job by the medical staff clearing him to play. Are there any departments in this organization not run by clowns?

Until they aren't I don't trust them.

For me the loss of Shane and Gates is big. I was excited to see them take the next step. Love the way Lemieux pulls on those power run plays.
I think people also over look the losses of Fulton and Looney. That was supposed to be decent depth and instead they weren't up to the task. Instead they had to scramble and get two replacements. If they didn't retire then the giants probably would've kept Hill which would help the defense a bit. Although I do like the potential of Bredeson.

Maybe itâs bad luck when injured early. Sometimes i wonder ifitâs b/c these guys work out so hard during the offseason that they take the field a little less flexible and pop goes a tendon. Probably bad luck is more likely though.

They still need 10 win imo. The excuses are endless for this guy. Hog mollie my tail. His depth on both lines is nil let alone questionable starters.

Seems something happened.

They can't get help training in the off-season so they aren't hurt coming into camp? Did lemiu really not know he had a torn patella in the off-season?

Which would be odd, being he totally ignored the draft for IOL...and...Slater I think the only thing keeping this OL above water is getting areal OL coach in Flarety in the building even tho he is just consulting he has them using every conceivable scheme adjustment from chips to max protect to keep Jones up and throwing and the results at least to this point will tell us wether Jones after 17 game is our guy and Thomas is out LT for the next 10 years.

And if you rupture your patella in no contact drills it was probably already damaged. I do remember Beatty tearing his pec lifting just before camp, and we know how that ended up.

Not everyone wants to rush off and have surgery. There are risks with surgery as well.

Better to get the repair done now. Hope the repair is minor. Here's to a speedy recovery Shane. Rehab starts tomorrow big fella. Get after it. See you at the next OTAs.

And he apparently did further damage to it, as he was replaced by Bredeson early. Doesn't really sound like a lot of rest.
