Toney was added to the injury report with an ankle. He did not practice Wednesday and was limited yesterday. Talk about a rough start.

A rough start is actually playing. This kid hasn’t even began to see what a rough start is. Luckily for him. He’s not in a profession where he gets hit by large angry men.

Of course he did. He was injury prone in college. I don't think this kid lasts long here.

Toney was added to the injury report with an ankle. He did not practice Wednesday and was limited yesterday. Talk about a rough start. This is getting comical. Hamstring, ankle, COVID, stupidity. I know its way early but I can't remember a rookie have this rough of a start in all my years. Toney's face should be in the dictionary next to the definition of Murphy's law....

Now just imagine if they panic picked him at 11.....I've said it in other threads....I'm just happy they got what they did from the Bears....this kid was a high risk pick high reward pick that currently isn't panning out......but it's also only Game 3 of year 1.

I loved the trade back at the time after missing out on Smith. I was ok (and actually called) the pick of Toney at 20. That said, I was unaware of all the red flags the kid had prior. I see this as a burned 1st round pick IMO. Like Baker. The kids head just isn't right, doesn't have the thick skin at all, and NY is going to eat him alive.

Wasn't Slater available? but but but but but butt but but butt but butt butt but........ But, but... No, he wasn't. That’s odd. I recall the Giants having the 11th overall pick, and Slater was drafted 13th. Unless the numerical system has changed since the draft, we had the opportunity to draft him. But, we took the magic beans and drafted a piss poor version of Percy Harvin.

Hell, get Urban Meyer on the phone and make a trade at this point, he loved Toney!
"Jaguars coach Urban Meyer even admitted it publicly on ESPN’s College GameDay, telling the hosts that it “broke his heart” that the Florida wide receiver wasn’t there on the board for Jacksonville’s pick at No. 25."
Let's just see how much?

I'll give him the full year though before it's a write off. But it looks bad.

They’re still lottery tickets. And, that’s next year, which does us no good for this year.

Eh doesn't even matter at this point. I want him to play and contribute but at this point it doesn't matter. Our O played great without him last week. When he starts to play I'll pay more attention. Hope he gets better.

But, but... No, he wasn't. Slater wasn't available at 11? I wanna see this revisionist history.... Or let me guess, "but but but buttt but but we got CHI's first next year?!" I'm too lazy too look, how did you feel about the trade at the time? Personally I wanted us to take Parsons, but the trade got a decent return. Obviously we need to make it worth it with next years picks.

Obviously we need to make it worth it with next years picks. I wanted Slater but when they traded back and got the Bears first I was excited. Then they selected Toney and I laughed. At that point I wanted Paye. I didn't think we should have gone WR with the 11th (when people wanted Smith) or at 20th. We need to fortify our trenches. That's what I wanted. That's fair. I wanted nothing to do with Paye and at 20 I couldn't think of anyone I really wanted. Toney is exciting and hopefully one day performs like that for us. The trade will be judged on what we get with the Bears pick.

I wonder if he ever practiced at Florida Maybe not but in college, it ain't that hard to be better than a bunch of future accountants, insurance salesmen and financial advisors. It's a lot harder in the pros. He ain't gonna play if he doesn't practice. That seems to be the message, I'm not sure why he doesn't seem to be getting it.
