I'm thinking we would get more from a deal like that than we will from keeping Barkely and hoping he will get back to where he was in season 1..

Hell yeah.. Top edge rushers can change the dynamic of a defense. More so than a great running back on offense. It’s still a passing league, and the best way to negate that is to get to the quarterback. We won four Super Bowls on that premise.

Could have had Parsons instead of Toney.
If there is any chance Barkley can be Rookie of the Year type Barkley again then we have to keep him but only time will tell. Would be nice to see him start making some great plays again.

Too many teams got caught up with his off the field behavior.

TJ Watt for Saquon Barkley... I know this would never happen since we would also have to give up picks as well but imagine how much more potent this defense would be with a guy like that.

Giants reportedly had interest leading up to the draft but I think they got turned around when Philly cut in front of them for the WR.

Steelers gave up 328 yards and 2 TDs in a loss to Derek Carr last week. Watt had 3 tackles and 1 sack in that game, for reference.

And knowing Dallas wanted him there is no way in hell I would have let them get him. We will see how that draft turned out in a couple years.

Who is the pass rusher? What age?
It really depends. Are we talking one of the Bosa's? Yeah I would make that trade. Pass rusher is our biggest need by about a mile and a half.

The sack is a double edged sword with the rules. It can both stop and extend a drive. Getting the QB off his mark to me is a more reliable way for the D to get off the field. Just my opinion.

I fell to the floor when we made that deal because I knew he wouldn’t be there at #17 Then I was sure we would take Bateman or Moore but we took the knucklehead instead ! Now the question is will it be Gettleman handling next year’s two 1st rounders… Geeesshh !!!!

No coincidence there is an uptick in value for kids who can run from the QB position coming out of college. Jones is faster than most NFL DBs (shameless Jones plug, so what lol)

One of them is on another team, another is underperforming, and the other is Jekyll and Hyde. So as you can see, it’s not always great with draft picks. More doesn’t always mean better. We can dissect and analyze this to death. Point is, we had two top players ready to be plucked by us. Parsons, and Slater. And we choose to go the other route. I want to look back at this in let’s say 3-5 years. It very well could be another one of our classic misses in the draft. See, Cedric Jones over Ray Lewis.

Another game like the last one and I'd trade him for a passably GOOD edge rusher.

You can look back in hindsight 2 games later and say we should've picked someone else, but, that doesn't make very much sense.

That was easy. You might be onto something. 🤔

We can play that game until we are blue in the face.

Unless you're passing up a can't miss QB and need a QB. Not for a LT when you just drafted one 4th overall.

Sure would have been nice if they had Baltimore's insight. They didn't and so didn't virtually the entire NFL.

In hindsight, the Barkley pick was bad. Running backs are a dime a dozen and without a OL worthless as we are finding out! So yes, trade him!
