The thread is a reminder how quickly many fans in this forum change their opinions.. The proclaimed "top 5 defense" and losing the Picasso of defenses to become a head coach is now looking like the unemployment line just 5 games into the season.. count me as one of those fans

The Cowboys D stinks too. The problem is we are not allowed to have a good offense two weeks in a row. So that means we should do well this week lol. I do not think we will give up more points to the Rams though. Yeah, giving up more points would take a special kind of effort and I do think Dallas has a better offense all around BUT I also feel like Dallas took it easy on us the first half by just running it up the gut almost every play, proving that we couldn’t stop them. They also had that goal line fumble in the first half and the tipped INT. The score could have easily been 21-7 by the end of the first half. The Rams rushing attack is not even close to the Cowboys though. All that running up the gut is what wore our guys the F out. Our 1st quarter D has actually been one of the best in the league. The 3 points we gave up against Dallas are the only 1st quarter points we've given up all year. Total 1st quarter points for the year is 10-3. Too bad we have to play the other 3 quarters.

Dolphins don't have edge guys to speak of either They also lost Tua for a while (probably some.major buyers remorse as well watching Herbert tear shit up ) You can't play a defense that doesn't have the pieces necessary to execute. If you don't have the pieces, you adjust, right? He hasn't. That means he's disqualified as a DC for us. Let's find him a HC job elsewhere and quickly. He truly is a genius.

Our LBs simply are not good enough. Ojulari is playing his heart out and will be very good IMO. We have Crowder who is decent but that's it. Ragland is ok. Carter is ok. Is X even playing? I like Toney but man do I wish we took Parsons. Bottom line is a lot of this would look different if we had a pass rush. 3rd worst pressure rate and 8th highest blitz rate. This is horrible. Two picks in round 1 next year and I go pass rusher with both unless some absolute stud OL is there. They really miss Martinez

They really miss Martinez You are not kidding but he was not much of a pass rusher. He's a great MLB. We needed to add more LBs to help him out, Ojulari is a start. Let's get another.

They really miss Martinez This team started to devalue LB a long time ago. This team? How about this fan base. Every damn offseason I list all these LBs that I would love cause it's still my favorite position in all sports. People tell me how LBs are not needed in the NFL anymore. Go look at the posts the last two years when I talked about Simmons and Parsons. Most of this fan base could care less about LBs until of course our D is getting smoked out there and our LBs are no where to be seen.
Yes I agree our org seems to have not given a damn about LBs for a long time though. Two first round draft picks next year, maybe one will be a LB. Jermaine Johnson from FSU. Used to be a Georgia Bulldog so I think fills our quota for the season too.

In a 3-4 defense, you have to value LB’s. I was all on board with Simmons and Parsons, but the opportunity wasn't there, and you really can't regret the other choices we made. Ojulari is a nice player, but too little too late. They counted on Carter and Ximines and that's appearing to be the mistake that's could cost jobs. Gettleman, Judge and Graham are all culpable for that.

This year's 3rd rounder is still injured I think.

Him and Crowder made a nice pair... Crowder looks overwhelmed the last 2 weeks having to call the defense ans being a lead guy...that's probably not his upside.. Nothing wrong with that, but unfortunately that makes the entire middle of the field a mess ......again .....

Crowder is a nice player, not the captain of your defense, call the shots, run the show and will us to victory type though.

lorenzo carter and the xman really disappointing so far. imagine either or both of these guys turned into total beasts, itd change the look of our D Ive been waiting and hoping for carter for it feels like a thousand years to step up our team is filled with guys who had potential that just hasnt quite reached expectations.

reading that, it seems like he had a simpler scheme to end last year, then tried a more complex system to start this year, and now will move back to simplifying things again.

reading that, it seems like he had a simpler scheme to end last year, then tried a more complex system to start this year, and now will move back to simplifying things again. They better do something. I didn't realize how bad it is: "With high expectations coming into the season, the Giants rank No. 29 in total defense, No. 27 in rushing defense, No. 26 in scoring defense and No. 22 in passing defense. Upon deeper dive, they rank No. 29 in percentage of third-down stops, No. 31 in sacks and dead-last No. 32 in opposing quarterbacks’ completion percentage. Plus, there’s an uncanny knack for giving up scoring drives and big plays late in halves." And the solution? "How can I make it so we’re playing faster, we’re playing with confidence and everything?” Graham said. “I know this: We have good players. Let me let them play.” Not so sure about the good players part...
