Joe Judge won’t be confused for Joe Namath, but he stopped talking about processes long enough to make a promise. “This is definitely going to get better,” the Giants head coach said one day after a 38-11 loss to the Rams that matched the most lopsided defeat of his 22-game tenure. “I don’t know what kind of guarantee they want, but I can assure everyone who is a Giants fan who wants to know when it’s going to turn, we are working tirelessly to make sure we get this in the right direction. Not just for short-term results, but for long-term success.” In response, the tristate area (presumably) said, “Show me, don’t tell me.” Giants fans clamoring for major changes are going to have to wait another day. Maybe another week. Maybe longer. Judge is not changing the Giants’ offensive or defensive play-caller “at this moment,” which makes an interesting caveat. He is not publicly calling out any specific players whose effort lacked in the blowout, though it is clear he identified a few. He is not throwing any red meat to bloodthirsty legions who want a face to blame for the fourth 1-5 (or worse) start in the past five years — and the most surprising tank since 2017. “On the whole, I saw the reaction the right way,” Judge said. “The things I didn’t like in the second half, or the first half for that matter, we’ll fully address to the team as a whole and independently. We’ll make sure to move on from that. But in terms of me sitting here right now and giving a list of names of things I don’t like, that’s not really what I do.” Judge portrays calm when fans are looking for the heated coach they see on the sidelines — or someone else in the locker room — to say he tossed a locker or flipped a table. Maybe those theatrics are best saved for sports movies — or maybe nobody would snicker if anger boiled over. “Everybody expresses their frustrations in different ways,” cornerback Adoree’ Jackson said. “If somebody was to do that, I don’t think anybody would look at them differently. They are probably feeling the same way, but just didn’t express it that way. If you see an athlete or anybody do something like that and you’ve been in a position where you’ve been frustrated, you can understand it and feel their pain.” In the face of a 28-3 halftime deficit, Judge challenged the Giants to give a complete effort. Lawrence Tynes — who was honored at halftime along with other members of the Super Bowl XLVI team — wasn’t as satisfied as Judge with the players’ response, particularly with the effort Reggie Ragland, James Bradberry and Xavier McKinney gave in pursuit of Cooper Kupp on a fourth-quarter catch-and-run touchdown. Giants only have themselves to blame for disgruntled fans “The three guys I saw pursuing him were jogging,” Tynes said as co-host of The Post’s “Blue Rush” podcast. “The eye in the sky never lies. The camera doesn’t lie. They are going to have to go look in the mirror and try some new guys. This season is lost at 1-5. Someone needs to say, ‘You are playing for a job now,’ because they are not good.” Here’s what Judge said instead: “This week of practice will determine a lot of that, to see how guys come out and perform and execute and compete. How you practice is going to have a large impact on how much you play.” Part of the disconnect is fans want answers for a decade-long drought that has produced a single wild-card playoff appearance in 2016, but Judge only has watched over the past 22 months. Only Sterling Shepard was on the last Giants’ winning team in 2016. Only Shepard and Evan Engram predate general manager Dave Gettleman. Most of the characters have changed. But the losing persists. Are the Giants even any better off now than in 2018 or is it déjà vu? “I don’t feel déjà vu,” said right tackle Nate Solder, whose 28 regular-season losses in three years with the Giants are more than he had in seven years with the Patriots. “Even though you don’t always win, you can build the qualities, the character that get the right people in place and then start to mature. “One of the things that losing does teach you is resiliency. The guys that are going to be in the locker room and the guys that are going to continue to improve and get better from this point on are going to be the resilient ones. That’s going to be the core foundation of what you can build off of for the future.” It’s a guarantee Giants fans have heard that song before. nypost.com/2021/10/18/joe-judges-giants-promise-things-going-to-get-better/

Ragland is soft and hesitant.
McKinney has been in the spot to make several plays and is only coming up with half of them.
Bradbury has been beat deep several times.
Adoree has given up a few.
Big dex has been taking a holiday all year.
Logan Ryan is either lost out there or everyone else is, because there seems to be regular missed assignments when he is involved.
Everyone as a whole is playing soft, every other team i watch playing our soft zone defence closes hard on passes trying to jar them free. We are so soft tge rexiever makes an easy catch makes a yard or two then we make a tackle. My personal belief is they are so concerned with thinking out there and getting their assignments right that they aren’t trusting their instincts. Simplify shit, let them go and hit people.

He has admitted he will e dealing some individuals not giving full effort we will see what comes of it. He says the same thing over and over. Apparently the schema is not working or so overly complex assignments can not be remembered.. I find it hard to blame the players if the Coaches are not positioning them in a place to win. This is just one play from Sunday: On how bad our players are setup to play. Tae Crowder had to to run towards the line of scrimmage to tackle the running back. Who had an 8 yard gain. Why is our ILB playing that far out of the box on 1st down (A running down) No wonder our Defense is so easy to beat. Now the general is the bulwark of the State; if the bulwark is complete at all points; the State will be strong; if the bulwark is defective, the State will be weak.Sun Tzu .The Art of War Chapter 3 section 11

If nothing else I think we are going to see wholesale changes in the starting lineup! At least that's my hope. Besides, I'd rather lose with some new faces (numbers) out there.

How are things going to get better if toney was hurt?
Why wasn't he playing week 1? Why wasn't he a featured part of the offense by week one? Why didn't he have that chance? They would have At least had the win vs the falcons on Eli day.

Boy, Judge is now exactly like McAdoo…..he even uses the same worthless language….he is toast, along with Gettleman before next season….it would be better to get rid of this High School JV coach today…..but Mara and Tisch will hide in the corners and do nothing until season’s end. Then in a written release they will announce the firings…..a cowardly way to do things but that is now the “Giant Way”.

Any changes in the starting lineup would be due to injury, not by choice. We'll do plenty of losing because we are a bad team, which turns out to have little to no talent outside of Tony, Shep, Thomas, and Martinez (who's out for the season). The rest of the team is a case study in mediocrity. Any changes you see will just make losing that much more embarrassing. I thought Dallas was rock bottom, then came the Rams. Can't imagine we have much more to fall, but the Giants are full of surprises.

This roster sucks. almost 100% healthy we saw some hint of what might be possible in the saints game. a few guys hurt and we completely collapsed. we have no depth, no playmakers. no one ever makes a good play. even sterling sheppard who people mostly like, and i like the dude too, but when does he make a game changing play, or break out for big yards. beyond golladadys potential and what we saw from toney we have nothing. booker sucks in place of saquon, brightwell never plays, we have no tight ends making any impact at all in the games. our defense has no linebackers like anything weve had in the past. theres no tucks, no osi's even. our roster sucks.

this team the coaches the players
they are all messed up and out of sync. They are not gelling, forming a chemistry, developing and identity etc. They play slow, they think too much, they blow plays when they are in their hands. ( How many ****ing picks is the D going to drop?)
Unfortunately they are just in a bad way. Leadership may help keep it together. If they possibly beat the Panthers then that will help for at least a week.

In a league designed for parity, it's takes a lot of effort to pick in the top 10 year after year.
#2, #4, #6 #17(i think) #28 overall in recent drafts, multiple 2nd Round picks and FA money yet they're headed towards another Top 10 or better pick again.
Dave Gettleman smh

Everyone knows what a disaster Urban Meyers is……well, he has led his team to the same number of wins as Judge…..Judge is a dead man walking….I hope he rented and didn’t buy.

It isn't too difficult to get better from rock bottom, so I agree with him. The Rams game was an expected beatdown. What amazed me is that we only scored 11 points against a struggling defense.

I expect the team to improve especially after the bye. Depends on the health of key players.
Kenny Golladay was spot on when he predicted a slow start.

I think all of you who thinks Judge will be gone after this season will be in for a rude surprise. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve it, he seems out of his league, but I would be pretty shocked if Mara let him go.

Continuity means shit, when you’re potentially on a four year stretch of losing. Judge will be here. Gettleman, he’s good as gone. All the Gettleman fans should buy him get well cards. Because, he not only has one foot out the door. But, his whole ass as well.

Plus they sign Barkley to a nice contract and all is well in the meadowlands! John Mara does make a threat at the end of the season though for theatrical purposes.

We might have to hire macdoo to teach the players in the locker room to create some in fighting so we can get judge fired. Maybe we can hire a couple college chick's and see if we can get them to hang out with Judge. Anyone got access to judges emails, there's gotta be something in there we can use!? Obviously losing and laughing at computer guys isn't enough.

I agree . I do not think Gettelman is either. LMAO... No chance Getty is picking the players in the draft next year.. Mara has already made it clear. If the team shows improvement. Not necessarily the playoffs. All are safe. (I still have hope they will improve . still 11games left.) nypost.com/2021/08/17/john-mara-reveals-whether-dave-gettleman-is-on-hot-seat/When asked specifically about Gettleman, Mara said he would not classify him as being on the hot seat, despite a 15-33 record in his three years leading the franchise.
“Let’s see what happens during the season, let’s see what kind of progress we’ve made,” Mara said. “I always feel like we need to make the playoffs. … I’m not issuing a playoff mandate. I don’t think those ever do you any good. I don’t think I need to say or do anything to motivate the people in this building any more than they’re already motivated. They all want to win.”IMO. If they do fire Dave. .Keeping Judge is a mistake. The New GM will not want to fall on a HC's sword that is proven loser. The main reason why I believe he is safe. If Mara wants to retain Judge. Dave is tied to his hip.

I actually am optimistic Dave will be gone whether he is fired or more likely “retires”. Dave has already set this franchise back years, I can’t even imagine the damage he would do if they let him run next years draft.
