Mara and Tisch have too much money and don't seem to be really committed to building a winner because it doesn't matter to them. Between the TV money, ticket sales, concessions, and parking they win, do you?

They're committed, they just don't know how. Specifically the Maras.

Between the TV money, ticket sales, concessions, and parking they win, do you? The only reason for them to have any sense of urgency would be if they weren’t making money. They would bring in all kinds of consulting firms and demographic firms and blah blah blah….but that is not the case. They are rich and are getting richer. So, where do YOU think this is going to take us?

I am sure Oklahoma City would welcome the Giants with open arms and wallets if NY was becoming not profitable. Our say on what they do or how they do it is Zero!!! Anyone who thinks it isn't, is clueless.

Wellington is rolling over in his grave. The entire franchise is incompetent I'm not sure it's the entire franchise. I think it all begins with Willington son. He Bears 90% of the responsibility. Shameful, incompetent fool.

They're committed, they just don't know how. Specifically the Maras. They do know how it's just hard to do. Like talking to your brother Chris and re-assign him to some where else in the organization. Same for nephew Tim. Then go into the scouting dept and ask hard questions and eventually move some people out and replace them with higher quality scouts. It would take time but at least your moving forward. Yes it would be hard to fire some long time scouts but its right for the franchise and the fans. Again they know how it would hurt to make these kinds of decisions so they don't do them.

Between the TV money, ticket sales, concessions, and parking they win, do you? Why the hell would they sell the team when 1) their revenue increases every year and 2) they're the 3rd most valuable franchise in the NFL? You have a better chance of hitting the lottery.

That sounds great, but I don't think they know that Chris and Tim are an issue. That said, its a fun theory we have on the boards here that Chris Mara is a bum at his job, but for all we know he could be recommending alot of good player acquisitions and DG is listening to other folks in the building. Unlikely? Yes, but we don't know the ins and outs

Some of you seem to think the owners dont care about winning and losing. That they only care about money. If thats your mindset you are completely wrong. BTW its a business and its their MAIN business of course they want and need to make money. They are not billionaires who decided to buy a sports franchise as a hobby.
If they didnt care there would not have been all the changes the last several years. If they didnt care there would be no video of John Mara throwing chairs If they didnt care there would be no new stadium (even tho it sucks) if they didnt care they would be in cap trouble (or perceived cap trouble)
They care 100% about the franchise, its history and WINNING. They just stink at getting it done. People meneotjn Wellington is rolling over in his grave. News Flash....HE SUCKED AT IT TOO!! The NFL intervened to tell him he sucked.
Step one has to be that Ownership swallows their pride and gives up control. Step two is then they have to find the RIGHT people to take charge. How they hell will they do that? They cant even get the right people for GM and HC!!?? Step three is hiring someone to actually hire the right people.

They cant even get the right people for GM and HC!!?? Step three is hiring someone to actually hire the right people. I believe that they do care about winning. It just isn't as important as making money. They are businessmen before they are anything else. Whoever thinks that they don't care at all about winning are clearly wrong. The Maras are rich. Very rich. Rich people do not like being told what to do, have a ton of pride, and they're pretty much set in their ways. Since the Giants make so much money, I doubt that the owners think that they themselves are doing anything wrong. I don't see them swallowing their pride and admitting that they are going about building this team wrong. I tend to agree with you about the Maras being football royalty, mainly because of the reasons you brought up. Thank goodness the league intervened. I'm not old enough to remember exactly how it went down, but I'm sure we have those that witnessed it. John, on the other hand, is a trust fund beneficiary that is in over his head. Finally, I don't see things changing with a new GM or HC. The constants of John and Chris Mara will linger over this franchise. Every single GM or HC job comes with its own set of drawbacks. The Maras are the drawback of the NYG. Any new hires will have to accept their meddling. Good luck.

Shameful, incompetent fool. People seem to forget the 60's and 70's and that was Wellington and Tim. He made his mistakes as did George Young. Every team does.

Shameful, incompetent fool. John and Tisch have always accepted responsibility for the product or lack of it . There is plenty of blame to go around to everyone from Owners to GM to Coach's to yes the ................players.

I disagree here....I do believe they know they are doing things wrong whether they are making money or not. Or better said they know what they have been doing is not working. Admitting publicly and taking action in that regard is whole other aspect. John Mara is not just a "trust fund" beneficiary. He has worked for the franchise for decades and is part of the family that started it. I also assume John was "running things" for a while prior to his Dad's passing given Wellington's age etc. BTW....Wellington Mara inherited the team as well.

I don't see where moving the team would make any difference if the same owners followed it, shit smells nasty no matter where its located...
