Ranking NFL head coaching openings from best to worst1. Las Vegas Raiders 2. Denver Broncos 3. Miami Dolphins 4. Chicago Bears 5. Minnesota Vikings 6. New York Giants The G-Men are projected to be well over the 2022 salary cap, needing to trim something in the ballpark of $16 million just to be in the clear. They've also quickly become a model of big-market despair, missing the postseason nine times in the last 10 seasons while churning through six different head coaches, including interims. The division, while often the subject of ridicule, is also no slouch, with the Cowboys and Eagles both entering the playoffs this year. In short, this isn't really close to a desirable destination. 7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Also, the Giants are paying 3 HCs in 2022. Shurmur, Judge and new guy.

The Giants are probably worse than the Jags as a desired destination. The Jags have hope with a young franchise QB. The Giants are in despair.
But now that Judge is gone at least a decent OC might come. No OC worth his weight in salt was coming with a HC that could have been fired 5 games into next season. Would he move his family under those circumstances ?

We've got 2 first round draft picks, can shed some cap to give us an average amount of room (and we will with a new GM), and it's New York.
I'm not saying we're #1, but I don't think 6 is accurate.

Would he move his family under those circumstances ? Living down here, I actually agree. Urban was a TERRIBLE hire. Get the right coach in here, and this team can take off again. They do need to fix the OL though for Lawrence. They have the franchise QB and some very good defensive pieces. Plus, they have a ton of cap room something we do not have any of. Oh, and the #1 pick in the draft.

The "its New York" thing doesn't carry weight anymore. Not with the internet and social media so huge. Anyone can be a media star from anywhere.

Teams like NYG, GB, CHI and WAS have a better resume historically and longer traditional values than teams like Jacksonville or Minnesota or Las Vegas.

The only desirable jobs on that list are Las Vegas and Miami. All the others have drawbacks with that Vikes being next best. Vegas Miami Vikings
Then throw the other 4 in a hat. I don’t buy that we are any less desirable than the other 4.

Id probably list it
Vegas Denver (will they land Rodgers?) Miami Jacksonville Chicago Minny NYG
Until they prove me wrong, we are the worst at everything. Lets see what a new GM can do.

I think that makes them more enticing at this point than us. I just disagree with Chicago being more attractive than us or Minny. Also not a fan of Miami. That team was over achieving.

He has done a fantastic job IMHO.

Thats like 14 million right there I think lol hell know new GM will probably cut some folks there was an article where they can cut Martinez / Bradberry / Shep / rudolph would get them 30 mill under. not greta but good for getting younger supposedly 2023 cap gets better especially if they part ways Jones and Barkely.

Jags have a high pick, a top tier young QB, and 3rd most cap space in the league. If there is a best spot for a coach, Jacksonville is it right now.
